Kama birds were a type of large predatory bird native to the savannas of the moon Toshara. The birds' preferred prey was robuma calves, and they circled around herds of the creatures for some time before striking. As such, robuma farmers—as well as wild robumas—learned to fend off attacks from the kama birds. Kama bird feathers could be worn to symbolize harmony with nature.[1]
In 3 ABY,[2] the scoundrel Kay Vess bought a Kama feather charm from a human merchant in the Hutt Poaching Outpost on the planet Akiva.[1]
Behind the scenes
Kama birds appeared in the 2024 Massive Entertainment video game, Star Wars Outlaws, pubished by Ubisoft. In the game, the player could also buy a Kama feather token which makes it easier for the player to avoid detection by wildlife.[1]
