- "This planet we're going to is completely lawless. The New Republic tried to bring it under control a few decades back– sent a good-sized fleet. None of them came back. Not one. This place is bad news."
- ―Poe Dameron
Kaddak was a lawless planet located in the Kaddak system of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories, near Rothana. In the years of the New Republic, it was controlled by the Ranc Gang.
Description

Kaddak was a terrestrial Outer Rim world.[1] It was home to at least one settlement called the Sliver, which was built around a giant pinnacle-shaped pink crystal. The Sliver had several levels including Level 72 and Level 45, which were home to several cantinas. The Sliver also hosted the headquarters of the Ranc Gang.[6]
History
- "A group of Imperial defectors were apprehended on the planet of Kaddak after ISB agents relentlessly followed their trail. The defectors were caught leaking information to rebels and will face the highest form of Imperial punishment."
- ―Dorna Parros, HoloNet News
Around 6 ABY,[8] the former stormtroopers Corlac and Terex traveled to Kaddak from Jakku, where they met with the crime bosses Wenda and Bett in an attempt to steal abandoned ships from the abandoned Rothana Imperial Shipyards.[6] After Terex killed Corlac, Wenda, and Bett for plotting to kill him, he took control of the Ranc gang and turned it into a feared pirate outfit.[9] When Terex left to join the First Order, he left Wisper in charge of the gang.[6]
A few decades before the attack on Tuanul, the New Republic tried to bring the world under its control, but none of the ships it sent came back.[6] In 34 ABY, the Resistance spy droid N1-ZX, a BX-series droid commando,[9] acquired a large amount of information about the First Order, including the current location of Supreme Leader Snoke.[1] Before being captured by the Ranc Gang,[9] N1-ZX transmitted a message to the Resistance base on D'Qar.[1]
Commander Poe Dameron, accompanied by BB-8, C-3PO, and Oddy Muva, traveled to Kaddak on the orders of General Leia Organa to investigate.[1] After landing on the Sliver, they traveled to a cantina on Level 45, where they learned from a mouse droid that their spy droid was being held by the Ranc Gang. Poe and the group traveled to the Ranc Gang's headquarters but were accosted by the gangsters. Meanwhile, the First Order Security Bureau Agent Terex returned to Kaddak and retook control of the Ranc Gang from Wisper.[6]
C-3PO rescued the group by activating several Resistance droid spies, who disarmed the gangsters and freed N1-ZX. The spy droid refused to divulge the data until he had been safely returned to the Resistance base. Terex then issued a bounty on Poe. After escaping a mob, the group with the exception of Oddy Muva returned to their freighter. Poe and the droids left Kaddak on the T-70 X-wing starfighter Black One. Terex gave chase in his flagship Carrion Spike while Oddy Muva stowed aboard the ship,[9] intent on rescuing his wife Sowa Chuan.[10]
The activity on Kaddak led Organa to release intelligence reports on First Order doings on the planet in a speech that she addressed to the New Republic Senate.[11]
