- "We're dropping you on Horuz. That's one of the dark planets we've been watching."
- ―Saw Gerrera, to Jyn Erso
Horuz was a planet[3] located in the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories.[1] Horuz was what the Partisans considered a "dark planet," meaning it was a seemingly insignificant planet that experienced communication blackouts and much higher protocols than normal.[3] Around 6 BBY,[4] Jyn Erso was sent on a mission to Horuz to assassinate the Imperial scientist Dorin Bell, who was eventually killed by land mines.[3] Shortly before the Battle of Scarif, Imperial forces were deployed to Horuz.[5] In the lead-up to the Battle of Jakku in 5 ABY, Horuz was reportedly to still be in the thrall of either an Imperial remnant or the criminal syndicates and gangs.[6]
Horuz's surface included cliffs, canyons, and forests.[3]

- ↑ Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game places Horuz in the area of space Star Wars: The Galactic Explorer's Guide identifies as the New Territories.

- ↑ Rebel Rising establishes that the mission to Horuz occurred shortly after Jyn Erso's fifteenth birthday. Catalyst: A Rogue One Novel establishes that Jyn Erso was born one year after the First Battle of Geonosis, which Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates to 22 BBY. Therefore Erso was born in 21 BBY, and the mission to Horuz must have occurred sometime around 6 BBY.
