The Goliath was an Imperial escort carrier belonging to the starfleet of the Galactic Empire. Its main function was to carry starfighters.
Characteristics
The Goliath was a boxy vessel with a curved upper hull and a flat ventral one. Aft, the hull extended over the carrier's engines. It was capable of carrying a wing of starfighters, in addition to being armed with ten Taim & Bak H-eights and a Krupx missile delivery system. However, its shield wasn't particularly good.[1]
History
In 14 BBY,[2] the Goliath was under the captainship of Commander Ros and deepdocked at Ord Mantell, when it was deployed to carry Darth Vader's personal starfighter to Nam Chorios, where the Sith Lord and Moff Wilhuff Tarkin would board the Goliath to pursue the latter's stolen vessel, the Carrion Spike.[1]
