Gloam was a ravaged terrestrial planet in the Galactic Frontier. The twin planet of Aubadas, Gloam was the original homeworld of the Katikoot sentient species. Millennia before the High Republic Era, the Katikoot were forced to flee Gloam for Aubadas after mining activities caused a plague which saw members of the species transformed into zombie-like monsters. Over time, the Katikoot forgot their true origins and resumed mining activities on Gloam as Aubadas was resource-poor, but legends of the monsters—since sealed away—remained. Gloam's environment suffered due to the mining,[1] and by around 382 BBY[3] the planet was on the verge of environmental collapse.[1]
