Firehawks were rare birds native to the planet Tenoo. Nash Durango named her starship, the Crimson Firehawk, after them. They are known for their stubbornness and their beautiful feathers.[1]
Behind the scenes
- "The very namesake for Nash's faithful ship, here are the beasts themselves! The babies especially proved to be a challenge, as I needed to make them look different enough from the adults so that the kids wouldn't realize they were the same species at first."
- ―Steph Laberis
Firehawk first appeared in "Feather Frenzy," the second part of the twentienth episode of the first season of the Disney+ and Disney Junior animated series Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures,[1] which aired on February 14, 2024.[3] Both the adult and baby versions of the species were designed by illustrator Steph Laberis, who used various species of vultures and eagles as reference. Laberis also mentioned the challenge of developing distinct designs for both life stages of the firehawk.[2]
