A farm was a piece of land generally used for the purposes of agriculture. On Tatooine, moisture farmers extracted moisture from the atmosphere of the desert planet.[2] During the Clone Wars, agricultural trade was cut off between many star systems, and during the Imperial Era, confiscations of farmland by the Galactic Empire caused shortages and price rises.[3]
