Brentaal IV, also referred to simply as Brentaal, was a terrestrial planet located in the the galaxy's Core Worlds, on both the Hydian Way and the Perlemian Trade Route.

Description

A planet[2] in the Core Worlds region of the galaxy,[1] Brentaal IV was located at the confluence of the Hydian Way and the Perlemian Trade Route, positioned at the coordinates L-9[5] on the Standard Galactic Grid.[11]

Brentaal IV had a rocky surface and an atmosphere that was breathable to humans. At least one moon could be seen in its sky.[4] The planet shared its name with the Brentaali.[12]

The pirate Q'anah and her father were natives of Brentaal IV, and Q'anah's father served House Cormond as a bodyguard until he was given a lucrative offer by House Elegin of the planet Asmeru to work for them instead.[1]

The planet was the site of the Republic Futures Program training facility, where Galen Erso met and befriended Orson Krennic[14][6] in 36 BBY.[15]

The Nuxan informant Bodo Linx had a contact,[10] Qensog,[4] on Brentaal IV, who he believed could help reconnect the fragmented Rebel Alliance after the Battle of Mako-Ta giving Leia Organa the contact's details.[10] The rebels later met with Qensog, and he gave them the locations of both Admiral Ackbar's Home One and Hera Syndulla's Geist.[4]

Brentaal IV was a key foothold for the New Republic during the final days of the Galactic Civil War. It and other planets in the Bormea sector were defended by the New Republic's Vanguard Squadron.[2]

Inhabitants

Brentaal IV was the homeworld of Platt Okeefe,[7] a famous smuggler, freedom fighter, and entrepreneur.[16]

Brentaal IV was first mentioned in canon in the novel Tarkin, written by James Luceno and released in 2014.[1] It made its first appearance in the comic Star Wars (2015) 61, written by Kieron Gillen, illustrated by Andrea Broccardo, and published on February 6, 2019.[17]

Its first mention was in the Star Wars Legends continuity, in the "Galaxywide NewsNets" segment of Star Wars Adventure Journal 3, published in 1994.[18]
