- "The Empire lives on until it ceases to exist, Alaytia. Until we cease to exist."
- ―Commander Bragh
Bragh was a human male Purge Trooper commander who served the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War. Following the destruction of the second Death Star, he fought for Governor Ubrik Adelhard's remnant. During his military service, Bragh was regarded as a fearless soldier who indulged in inflicting pain on others.
Biography
- "A man who lives for his Empire knows no fear. Anyone else is not a man."
- ―Commander Bragh

Bragh was born on Burnin Konn, one of the Mining Worlds of the Anoat sector in the Outer Rim Territories. He entered military service during the Imperial Era as a member of the Stormtrooper Corps, an elite unit of the Galactic Empire. As a stormtrooper, he spent many years in the Mid Rim region of the galaxy, where he learned to suppress slave revolts and rebel uprisings. Upon his promotion to the rank of commander, Bragh was transferred to the Anoat sector, where he quickly befriended Governor Ubrik Adelhard. In battle, he utilized a heavy blaster rifle, a rotary blaster cannon and a rocket launcher.[1]
After the Battle of Endor, when Adelhard initiated the Iron Blockade, Bragh spent much of his time on board the Star Destroyer Scepter, serving as the ship's Master-At-Arms.[4] In this capacity, he helped capture a New Republic task force assigned to do a threat assessment on the Blockade. When the prisoners attempted to escape, Bragh overpowered them with help from Reyna Oskure.[8] Luke Skywalker soon arrived to rescue the prisoners. Skywalker defeated Oskure in a lightsaber duel, while Bragh was shot by one of the prisoners - his armor enabling him to survive a wound that would have been fatal to an ordinary stormtrooper. Oskure and Bragh were taken prisoner by the Rebels, but an ambush by stormtroopers enabled both of them to escape captivity.[9]
Not long after Bragh recovered from his injury and repaired his armor, a Rebel prisoner named Pessin attempted to bargain for his freedom by revealing to Adelhard there was a traitor in his ranks.[10] Adelhard - already paranoid as he had began to suspect he was an unwitting pawn in Gallius Rax's machinations[11] - ordered Bragh to investigate. Bragh suspected Lieutenant Kith Alaytia, as he had never liked her, but the trail went cold after Pessin was found murdered in his cell.[10]
When Oskure and Alaytia led a mutiny against Adelhard, Bragh stepped up to defend his commanding officer. Bragh was overpowered by the Trandoshan bounty hunter Kranor, who expressed disappointment that Bragh was not the worthy opponent he expected. Bragh was placed in a sabotaged escape pod along with Adelhard and other stormtoopers loyal to him. The pod crashed onto the nearby planet Gallowyss, impacting hard into the surface. Bragh was the first survivor to claw his way out of wreckage[12], and he extricated Adelhard and the surviving stormtroopers in short order.[6]

Several months into the Iron Blockade, the Uprising plotted to kidnap Bragh. The plan was to attract Bragh in the middle of Anoat's ruined city. As soon as the commander would have set a foot on planet Anoat, the Smuggler and the Kouhun assassins would ambush him, while several Throneships of the Noble Court would keep his Imperial-class Star Destroyer at bay in orbit. However, the plan failed, and most of the assault team were taken to The Crypt to be imprisoned.[1]
This led to a rescue mission which was mounted by the Smuggler, and Bragh was defeated during the mission,[1] but survived. Bragh was later present with Adelhard as part of his plan to attack both the Empire and New Republic during the Battle of Jakku,[13] where he was killed by the Acolyte of the Beyond Reyna Oskure.[14]
Behind the scenes
Bragh made his debut in the now-offline game Star Wars: Uprising.[1] He later appeared as a major character in the Star Wars: Battle of Jakku comic line.[13] In Uprising, Bragh seemingly meets his end in the rescue mission to the Crypt: the character is shot by the player and then only is referenced in the past tense after the mission.[1] However, Bragh appears alive all the way until the Battle of Jakku itself in the later comic line,[13] in which he is killed.[14]
