An aide or assistant was a worker or individual who assisted a person of high political or military standing.[1] A number of senators in the Republic Senate,[2] and later, Imperial leaders were assisted by aides.[3]
When Padmé Amidala became senator of Naboo she took on handmaidens as her aides.[4] Her known aides included Dormé, Versé, Cordé and Teckla Minnau.[5] Later following the outbreak of the Clone Wars Amidala hired Moteé and Ellé[6] to replace Versé and Cordé[7] who had died in an assassination attempt on the senator's life.[5]
During the last days of the Separatist Crisis, Taun We, aide to Lama Su, the Prime Minister of the Ruling Council of Kamino, greeted Obi-Wan Kenobi when the Jedi Master visited the planet.[5]
Amidala's close friend and ally Bail Organa of Alderaan also had several senatorial aides including Sheltay Retrac[6] and later Organa's adopted daughter and Amidala's biological daughter Leia Organa.[8]
During the Clone Wars, Cellheim Anujo served as an aide to Quarren Senator Tundra Dowmeia.[9]
Kilji vassals acted as aides to Kilji Illumine commanding officers and their masters, doing everything for them.[10]
Attendants in the Imperial Security Bureau acted as aides to ISB Supervisors.[11]
Flag Lieutenants acted as the personal aides to admirals in the Imperial Military.[12]
