- "I know. No adipocere."
"What's that?"
"It's a residue that forms on dead animal tissue when exposed to moisture." - ―Dr. Francine Michaels, Jonas Quinn and Dr. Janet Fraiser[src]
Adipocere is a waxy substance that is formed by the decomposition of a dead body's fat tissue when subjected to moisture.
History
While at White Rock Research Station, Dr. Francine Michaels showed Dr. Janet Fraiser cells of a body that had been frozen for millions of years. The cells didn't have adipocere and were intact. (SG1: "Frozen")
