Piper is one of the twelve main characters in the Star Darlings animated and book series. She is the main point of view for the seventh Star Darlings book Piper's Perfect Dream. She first appears in the episode Star Charmed and is voiced by Stephanie Sheh. Piper's roommate at Starling Academy is Vega and her first Wisher on Wishworld is Olivia.
Story
History
Piper lived in an isolated old house in the Gloom Flats with an eccentric grandmother and an older brother named Finn, who preferred to be alone. Due to rumours that the spirits haunted the house, they never got any visitors. Piper passed the time by conversing with the ghosts that inhabited her home.
Piper seems to float through life beyond the present moment and into the astral plane. When Piper doesn't have her head in the cosmos, she's fun to be around. Piper is super artistic and writes beautiful poetry. She is currently working on an epic poem about wishes. Piper expects it to be four hundred thousand lines long, but she's only on line thirty! Her connection to the magic around her makes her a perfect Star Darling.
Appearance
Piper has thin seafoam-green eyebrows, matching long straight seafoam-green hair tied in a ponytail, and big green eyes. Her ethereal, calm looks give off a peaceful, serene, and Zen-like vibe. Akin to all Starlings, she has slightly sparkly skin and a pale complexion. She wears a long, light seafoam dress tied with a dark ribbon and a pair of seafoam sandals. Her Wish Pendant is a sea-green bracelet that decorates her wrist. A circle of star-shaped jewels in each bangle radiated with golden wish energy.
On Wishworld, Piper's beautiful seafoam-green hair becomes dirty blond with just a streak of green with, her eyes turn green and her skin losing its sparkle. Her outfit consists of an emerald-green shirt connected to a swirly skirt by a green belt and a pair of shoes to finish her look.
Personality
Piper seems to float through life beyond the present moment as if she's on an astral plane. She is ethereal and speaks with a voice that's calm and smooth as silk. Piper also loves to meditate and write poetry.
Despite that, she sometimes gives the other girls the heebie-jeebies. She's psychic and always tells her friends about visions she's witnessed and her searches for spirits, which often intimidate them. Piper also has an innate ability to read others.
When Piper does not have her head in the cosmos, she's relatively fun. She's also super artistic and writes beautiful poetry. Her connection to the magic around her makes her a perfect Star Darling.
Piper's Room

Piper has the most private space of all the Star Darlings. The top floor is a circular design that removes her from the rest of the world. Soothing fragrances given off by carefully selected plants perfume the air. Piper can spend hours there reflecting on the things that matter to her most,
Her jewel-toned padded bed is in the center. Its circular sides are lined with twinkling lights. Except for a few floor pillows, the bed is Piper's only piece of furniture. If she wants to be with friends, she goes down a steep spiral stairway to the lower level. Scarlet likes to visit just so she can ride her skateboard down!
Powers and Abilities
Starling Physiology
Being a Starling, Piper possesses all of the natural traits that the species has.
- Wish Energy Manipulation - Piper harnesses positive wish energy for most of her abilities.
- Energy Blasts - As displayed in The Power of Twelve, wish energy can be used to fire streams, bursts, orbs, and waves of offensive power against opponents.
- Force Fields - Demonstrated in the above special, Piper can conjure shields as defense.
- Extended Lifespan - In Scarlet Discovers True Strength, it’s confirmed that Starlings can live for thousands of years, as Mira’s grandmother is over thousands of years old. Before that, in Leona's Unlucky Mission it was hinted that a few decades wasn’t too long in comparison to Starling lifespans. However, they do not have eternal youth, as Professor Elara Ursa is stated to be among one of the oldest wish granters and has clearly aged in a similar manner to a wishling elder.
- Disease Immunity - In Scarlet Discovers True Strength, it states that the wish energy surrounding Starlings keeps them from contracting illnesses.
- Superhuman Knowledge - In Leona's Unlucky Mission, Starlings are shown to be nigh-perfect at mathematics from birth. Astra's Mixed-Up Mission also implies that Starlings are the same way towards towards literature and similar subjects such as language and grammar.
- Floating - In the shorts “Piper Dreams” and “Star Party”, Piper is shown to be able to float while meditating.
- Light Conjuration - During the short “Piper Dreams”, Piper was able to light up a portion of where she is through vases she ignited, and was also able to disable them when she left.
- Emotion Manipulation - The short “Piper Dreams”, shows Piper having the ability to manipulate one’s emotion, changing Libby’s usual cheerful and talkative nature to a more calmer and serene one.
- Prophetic Visions - Piper tends to gain spiritual visions as messages of the near-future.
Wish Mission Signature Powers
The Star Darlings each gain a power that is meant to assist with carrying out their wish missions. It is unknown if this is exclusive to them, or if they only work on Wishworld, as Adora uses hers to heal Vega in the The Power of Twelve.
- Sunray Vision - In Piper's Perfect Dream, Piper becomes able to see through any object, using this ability to find out the true grade of her wisher.
