The Shadow is a Krawl that assists Jado during each boss battle. It is unclear if the Shadow is a unique Krawl or just an extension of Jado.

Appearance
The Shadow is, faithful to its name, a shadowy mass. In battle, it has a long, thin lower body which anchors it to the ground amidst a swirling mess of grounded shadows. Its head appears basic, sporting a large mouth with several strands connecting its jaw together. Above said mouth sit two, perfectly-spherical, white eyes. Off the back of its head, several tendrils of shadow extend, giving it the impression of having spikes or hair attached to the back of its head. During battle, the Shadow gives off a faint glow of white light, giving it an easy to see silhouette.
Attacks
The Shadow attacks by swinging its head to hit foes with a one to three hit combo, or by biting into them with its large, crooked mouth.
Strategy
The Shadow is one of Krawl-form Jado's only defenses from being ganged up on. The Shadow, unlike its master, does not have a health bar, so caution should be taken if unprepared for the boss battle as a whole, as you will likely not know when it will go down. This, combined with Jado's ranged attacks and the fact that the Shadow can be revived by Jado after its defeat, can make defeating it tricky. Ultimately, managing to defeat the Shadow is worthwhile in providing a brief opening to continuously attack Jado.
Granted, the Shadow will also be defeated upon the defeat of its master, so, if your Spectrobes have the health to do so, it can be optimal to ignore the Shadow altogether and focus attacks on Jado for a swifter victory.
Trivia
- Despite its master, Jado, appearing in Spectrobes: Origins, the Shadow is seemingly absent from this title in the series. No canon explanation exists to explain its absence.
