Appearance
He is an old man with a head of silver hair neatly combed behind his back, with a simple and unadorned appearance, both eyes not fully opened but slightly shut. His gestures in between gives off a very special feeling. His aura could be described as a sharp edge.

Chen Xin being the Sword Douluo has an imposing personality. He is also however kind. He dotes on Ning Rongrong.
Plot
Heaven Dou Auction House
He appears at the Heaven Dou Auction House escorting Ning Fengzhi. After returning back he welcomes Ning Rongrong eagerly. He is amazed with Ning Rongrong's growth in Spirit Power over the short period of time.
Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan Headquarters
He steps up in order to check the capabilities of Hidden Weapons and is almost injured by Ning Rongrong's attacks although he was suppressing his spirit power in order not to harm her.
Attack en route to Spirit City
Chen Xin accompanies Ning Fengzhi to Spirit City and during the attack by an army of men disguised as bandits, he stays vigilant but does not immediately make his appearance.
When the Chrysanthemum Douluo attacks Tang San he makes his move, stopping his attack and causing the entire army to retreat and flee.
Spirit Hall Attacks
When Spirit Hall attacks Chen Xin makes his stand, fighting multiple Titled Douluos along with Ning Fengzhi and Gu Rong. His might helps to push back the attackers and make them retreat. However his right arm was severely injured during the attack, thus greatly decreasing his strength.
Heaven Dou Palace Rebellion
When the Spirit Hall members attack again, despite having lost some of his strength, with the help of the members of Tang Sect, they manage to gain victory. Afterwards Chen Xin reveals information about the Rank 99 powerhouse Qian Daoliu who was responsible for his father's death.
Later when Grandmaster asks of him to provide intense pressure on the Shrek Seven Devils, he accepts. He confronts the Shrek Seven Devils other than Xiao Wu. Despite seemingly winning easily, he is forced into a rather sorry state, with his robes entirely charred and having had to release more power than he had deemed necessary. He is shocked by the combined power of the Shrek Seven Devils and approves of their departure to the Sea God Island.
Differences in the Manhua
- In the Manhua his strength increases while facing Spirit Hall's elders, while in the novel his strength is greatly decreased. His arm was cut off during the battle.
