Laps Race is one of the battle mode competitions in Sonic Rivals 2 played in Act 2 of every zone. During the story, this battle competition is played mainly in Espio's story with Metal Sonic in Blue Coast Zone and Tails in Sunset Forest Zone.
Overview
The objective of the player is to simply complete laps around the stage before their rival does the same. Each lap is a part of the first act played for a specific number of time. Laps race is like normal race with Power-Up and so on but when the character is ahead and Fire Power-Up is activated they will shoot a fireball instead of using a shield. (In Free Play mode, the number of laps can be set for 1, 3 or 5.)
