Greebo[1] is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. He is an animal-like alien racer from an unknown planet.
Appearance
Greebo is a quadrupedal alien with olive green skin, three blue claws on each foot, three pairs of red eyes, two white tusks, and two white horns, and a sharp "beak".[1]
History
Tossed in Space
Greebo was one of the six contestants participating in an E.C.H.S Galactic Space Race, along with Scarabb, Nordon, Kir-Ta, Brre-Die, and Sonic the Hedgehog. Once the race started, Greebo dashed forwards with the other contestants, but was soon thrown into a wall by Scarabb. It is unknown what place Greebo eventually achieved in the race.[1]
Personality
Although much of Greebo's personality is unknown, as he speaks in an unintelligible language, he appears to have some form of resentment against Scarabb.[1]
Powers and abilities
Greebo is a capable runner, although he does not appear to be incredibly strong.[1]
Trivia
- Greebo's name is most likely intended as a parody of the Star Wars character, Greedo. Many concepts from the first story of Sonic the Hedgehog #129, "Space Gamble", are inspired by Star Wars, with The Phantom Menace even being given a "tip of the hat" in the credits for the story.
