Eggtech,[1] also referred to as Eggman tech,[2] is a subject that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing. It refers to the brand of technology created by Dr. Eggman and utilized by the Eggman Empire.
Description
Eggtech is a highly advanced form of mechanical technology that has been designed and created by Dr. Eggman, and produced by the Eggman Empire. In fact, it is so complicated that it does not seem to follow conventional forms of logic, or perhaps even the laws of physics, as Tails has repeatedly remarked that Egg-tech is "notoriously weird", even to a genius of his caliber.[3][2] Regardless, it has an excessively wide array of applications when used for the construction of mechanical feats, from flying airships and floating fortresses,[3][4] to virus-like nanobots,[5] to various forms of autonomous robots, to private spaces capable of circumventing the laws of space and time.[6] Notably, Egg-tech is capable of pulling off otherwise highly advanced, complicated, and time-consuming procedures with relative ease and outward simplicity.[4]

Apparently, anything autonomous made from Egg-tech will automatically recognize other pieces of Eggtech as friendlies by default, even if one of these parties possesses self-awareness and are not affiliated with Dr. Eggman.[7][1] This allows, for example, a good-hearted Badnik like Belle the Tinkerer to get close to hostile Badniks without them attacking her.[7] Furthermore, anything created from Egg-tech is able to decipher Eggman's personal form of decrypted files and blueprints by default.[8]
