Egg Pogo

The Egg Pogo^[1] is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced, pogo stick-based Badnik created by Dr. Eggman, as well as a variant of the Egg Saucer.

Appearance

Being variants of the Egg Saucer, the Egg Pogos are spherical Badniks with red and black bodies, a gray dome-shaped head, two black eyes, and an extendable yellow drill-like pogo on their underside.

Overview

In Sonic Blast, the Egg Pogos appear exclusively in Silver Castle Zone. In gameplay, the Egg Pogos repeatedly bounce up and down in the same place, making no effort to attack the player, or move horizontally. The Egg Pogos tend to be in the player's way during high-speed sections or hallways that have short roofs, making them hard to avoid if the player is moving too fast. Nonetheless, the Egg Pogos can still be easily destroyed with any attack method such as a Spin Jump. Like with most Badniks in the Sega Master System and Sega Game Gear titles, the Egg Pogos do not release Animals upon their destruction.

Powers and abilities

Due to their pogos, the Egg Pogos can perform huge vertical bounces. They are also capable of phasing through roofs as if they were never solid objects, making them excellent Badniks for ambushes. Despite this though, they are incapable of basic movement.
