The blue plasma bomb[1] is an obstacle/gimmick that appears in the Sonic Boom series. They are used during the boss events with Dr. Eggman in Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom.
Description
Each blue plasma bomb is a large dark blue sphere. Encircling them on both sides of their equator is a white stripe and a light blue stripe with white lights. Unlike the red plasma bomb, these bombs glow faintly.
During the "Bauble Battle" edition of the "Egg-Mania" event, the blue plasma bombs were redesigned as light blue baubles with snowflakes on them. They were also referred to as "blue baubles."[2]
Overview
In Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom, the blue plasma bombs only appear during events where Eggman can be fought. In gameplay, Eggman randomly drops them from his Eggmobile in front of the playable characters as they run. Simply running into the blue plasma bombs will damage the player. However, rolling into them will knock them back at Eggman, disorientating him briefly. For each such hit, the player will earn points and build up a combo link.
Trivia
- The blue plasma bombs are identical in appearance to the photon bombs used by the Mega in "Translate This".
