Past

SSSSSS arms and davy

In the recent past, Dr. Robotnik gathered many of his old bounty hunter Badniks, including Arms. The doctor told them that he wanted them to catch Sonic, and if they did, he would give them one billion Mobiums. Immediately afterward, all the Badniks headed out in an attempt to catch the hedgehog when he revealed himself. Along the way, Dragon Breath told them to split into different groups to catch Sonic. Arms went with Davy Sprocket. When they found Sonic, he had them hold onto a rope and made them crash into a mountain, destroying them both.[1]

Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine

In the 16-bit version and 8-bit version of Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, Dr. Robotnik assembled many of his old bounty hunter Badniks, including Arms, and told them to kidnap the Beans that inhabited Beanville so he could turn them into robot slaves using his Mean Bean-Steaming Machine. Later, Arms was the first Badnik the player battled and defeated.

Personality

Arms is an unintelligent robot, who can easily be tricked by his enemies. According to Frankly, he also gets very wrapped up in himself to do something useful.[2] Despite this, he tries to serve Dr. Robotnik to his fullest, as he wanted to make a bean feast for him.

As a bounty hunter, he also loves money, and will do whatever he can in order to earn tons of Mobiums.[1]

Battle

Arms is the first boss in the 16-bit version and 8-bit version of Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine.

Boss guide

Like with the other bosses, the battle against Arms takes place in two "dungeons" on each side, the left one being from the player and the right one from the doctor.[3] To defeat Arms, the player has to fill his dungeon to the point where he is unable to drop any more beans. This can be done by dropping Refugee Beans into his dungeon, though Arms himself can fill his own dungeon by accident.

During the battle, Arms will be very passive, and the beans will drop very slowly, giving the player much time to perform combos. In addition, Arms' AI is pretty weak at doing combos.

The player loses when their dungeon is full of beans. After that, they are sent to a Continue screen and given the option to play again. If they win, however, the game will lead to the next boss, Frankly.

Trivia

  • In this battle, Arms has the same AI as Draco Centauros from Puyo Puyo, the game on which Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine is based.
