Marokare

Marokare (まろかれ; "Rolling Wither" in furigana, "Blend" in kanji), also known as Sanagi o Yaburi, Chou wa Mau (САНАГИさなぎ О ЯАБУРЙやぶり ЧИЁУちょぅ ХА МАУまお; Breaking the Chrysalis, the Butterfly Flutters), is one of Orochi & Mizuchi's Super Special Moves in The King of Fighters series, first appearing in The King of Fighters '97.

Description

The user crosses their arms over their chest, then fills the screen with a harming energy - for Orochi, it's holy light.

While for Mizuchi, it's instead a snowflake emblem seal that carries his foe away from him that churns them up towards the upper corner of the screen once it connects. The initial blows are tracking bursts of energy that do multiple hits instead if blocked, thus it works more like a hit-grab.

Strategy

This move is the perfect frame trapping tool, as it hits everywhere. It will also negate projectiles. Mixed with hits from Harae, not only will your enemy's projectile be nullified, but your enemy will also be wide open for this attack too, as Orochi will gain control while the surging blast from Harae is still hitting and barreling towards the enemy and beyond.

For all its omni-hitting traits, Orochi is still vulnerable while performing the move; thus, if he is hit out of it, the entire attack will stop. Also, if it is blocked, Orochi is left open for retaliation, though this is a chore if Orochi has distance between himself and the defender.

Mizuchi's version is also easily blocked for a few hits, and during this time he is left open, with block-pushback happening only on the final blocked hit.
