• To contrast the previous protagonist of the series, K' was made to be the "dark hero" of the series.^[1] 
• Originally, K' initially sported a slicked back hairstyle, but this was changed to it being more "bushier".
  • K' slickback hairstyle would be the main design for Another K'.
  • His changed hairstyle was often compared to Rock Howard's hairstyle by SNK developers due to The King of Fighters '99 and Garou: Mark of the Wolves being developed at the same time.
• K's yell following his debut - "Dora!" or "Ora!" - was made due to Sha-V's suggestion. He reasoned that these shouts are K's equivalent to Kyo's "Kurei!" or Iori's "Doushita!". Konny jokingly wonders if he's trying to say the word "dry" since the first draft of his yell was "Dorei!".^[2]
• K' and Maxima are the champions of all The King of Fighters tournaments hosted in the NESTS Saga, which was confirmed in the Light Novels.
• K’ is the tallest KOF protagonist, standing at 183 cm/6’0”.
• K' and Shun'ei are the only heroes/protagonists who don't have total control of their own powers.

• In Neo Geo Battle Coliseum, at the character select screen, when selecting K' with R1+X, he wears red clothes, has blonde hair, and wields green flames, just like Ash Crimson.
• According to former The King of Fighters director Toyohisa Tanabe, a "guest character" from KOF would make an appearance in the cancelled 2003 Capcom fighting game Capcom Fighting All Stars, with an obscured silhouette as the only hint to who this character's guest appearance was. Due to the visage of the character, many believe that it was supposed to be K'.
• In an interview with one of the manhua artist and authors, King Tung, he replies that K' is his favorite original character in the series.^[3]
• In the KOF 2003 manhua, K' explicitly states " I gave my best punch to my best friend". It is also revealed that he harbors deep feelings for Kula (although it's not explicitly stated if this are feelings of "love" or just "concern for her safety" as she is captured by Rugal and used as a source of power for his Kaiser wave attack).
• Starting with The King of Fighters XIII, K' now wears sunglasses. According to KOF XIII’s producer Masaaki Kukineo, he states that the team were pursuing a more "cooler" version of K' where he now keeps his sunglasses on during the fight.^[4]
  • Interestingly, despite the player not seeing K' eyes during gameplay, his eyes are still animated.
• According to several designers and illustrators of the KOF series, K' is one of the most difficult characters to illustrate.^[5]
