Gaoh, Oppressor of the Demon World (魔界を統べし我旺 Makai wo Suberubeshi Gaō), also known as Demon Gaoh, is a character in Samurai Shodown VI. He acts as the last boss in the game.
He is voiced by Akio Ōtsuka.
Story
He is a version of Gaoh abusing the "Dark Emperor" spirit inside of him. He uses the entities' power as his own and efficiently tames the underworld. Although he did it to protect this world from demons, he essentially becomes one himself.
Personality
Ruthless and unrelenting, Demon Gaoh shows no mercy in battle, crushing his opponents without hesitation. Yet unlike many of the series’ other villains, whose motivations stem purely from chaos and destruction, Gaoh retains a sense of wisdom and conscience. Though he has forsaken his humanity, he still considers the welfare of both mankind and demonkind, acting as a dark guardian rather than a mindless force of evil.
Powers
- Multiple Attacks - Demon Gaoh can rush forward with barrage of spear thrusts
- Fiery Wave - Demon Gaoh can sweep ground with spear, summoning mult-hitting wall of flame
- Fiery Headbutt - Demon Gaoh can grab opponent and headbutt him for high damage. Cross-shaped scar on his forehead shines during this and opponent gets burnt.
- Teleportation - He can warp to other location in an instant.
- Kuraki Sumeragi Control - Demon Gaoh has full control over Kuraki Sumeragi entity, and can summon it at will.
- Kuraki Sumeragi Mount - By commanding the Kuraki Sumeragi to assemble a spectral steed from its armor and ghostly green flames, Gaoh performs a devastating riding charge that fills the entire screen. In Samurai Shodown VI, this attack strongly resembles M. Bison’s Final Psycho Crusher—not just in destructive power, but in sheer spectacle. Thanks to Gaoh’s unique fighting system (Style 0), this move can also shatter the opponent’s weapon upon contact, drawing inspiration from Samurai Shodown II’s mechanics; paralleled by Bison's own Shadaloo-ISM.

Trivia
- Demon Gaoh and Aku Amakusa are the only bosses of the series (sub or final) with two or more versions of their persona. However, unlike Gaoh, the two versions of Amakusa can coexist in a same game.
