Sky Rojo (English: Red Sky) is a Spanish television series, created by Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato. It was released on March 19, 2021 on Netflix. The series was renewed for a second season, ahead of its first season release.[1]
On March 29, 2021, Netflix announced that the second season of the series released on July 23, 2021.[2]
Synopsis
Three prostitutes leave their pimp badly wounded and they begin a frantic run to survive. On one side, three men cry out for revenge. On the other, three women seek freedom.
Coral, Wendy and Gina go on the run in search of freedom while being chased by Romeo, their pimp from Las Novias Club, and his henchmen, Moisés and Christian. Together, the women embark on a frantic, chaotic journey during which they must face dangers of all kinds and live every second as if it were their last, while strengthening their friendship and discovering the most important thing: that together they are stronger and have more options to recover their lives.

Production
The series filmed on various locations in Madrid and Tenerife.[3] Filming began in Madrid on November 18, 2019, and later moved to Arico, Tenerife.[4] Filming was set to move to Castilla–La Mancha in early 2020 and take place there for approximately four months. However, the project, which was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic and filming continued in October 2020 in Madrid.[5] The first season has 8 episodes of 25 minutes each. The series produced by Vancouver Media and distributed by Netflix.

- The series comes from the creators of ‘La Casa de Papel’.
- On January 19, 2021, it was announced via a teaser trailer that the series would premiere exactly two months later, on March 19, 2021.[6]
- Iván Martínez Lacámara and Manel Santisteban who both worked on Money Heist will serve as composers for Sky Rojo.
- Rojo translates to Red in Spanish so you may see the show referred to as Sky Red.
