Story
Powers and Abilities
Master Combatant: Garen is a highly trained and experienced fighter, considered one of the best in the series. Trained from childhood by both Ray and Stronghold in the High Island military, his combat prowess is widely respected.[2]Even when holding back, Garen was able to defeat The Ranger with precise flesh wounds, showing restraint despite having the ability to kill him easily. During the fight with Agatha and her crew, Garen single-handedly overwhelmed the renowned treasure hunter in both swordsmanship and bare-handed combat. While escaping from the Brightmanes, Garen held his own against their elite soldiers, The Marksmen, despite being severely weakened by the repeated use of his Bloodlust and having exhausted his Vessel.
- Master Swordsman: Garen is a superb swordsman with mastery in both single and dual-wielding techniques. He demonstrated remarkable skill by defeating numerous Nhols during his and Wake’s first adventure. His ambidextrous swordplay and adaptability make him a deadly opponent. He has proven himself superior to Agatha, overwhelming her in their duel.[3]
- Weapon Mastery: Beyond his swordsmanship, Garen is highly proficient with a wide range of weapons, making him a true master of arms.[4]
- Explosive Cactus: A combination technique performed by Garen and Wake. Wake casts Impulso, and on a shared signal, they simultaneously launch projectiles, Wake using ice magic and Garen throwing knives, to devastating effect.[5]
Superhuman Strength: Due to being born with a broken Vessel, Garen is unable to store Mana in the usual way. Instead, it naturally disperses into his muscles and bones, granting him unnatural strength from an early age. Years of training have refined his raw power, making Garen one of the strongest individuals in the series.
He has been seen carrying two fully grown adults along with heavy supplies and his massive Weapon Coat, with ease. His strength can be further augmented by his Bloodlust, enabling feats such as defeating the colossal Baerolme in hand-to-hand combat and physically lifting and parking the Ship for repairs.
