KyloHan is the family ship between Han Solo and Kylo Ren from the Star Wars fandom.
Canon
Han and Leia Organa are the parents of Kylo Ren, born Ben Solo. He was named after Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi Master who sacrificed himself so that Han and Leia could escape the Death Star. When Ben was born, Han wondered if he would be a good father to his new son. He worried that Leia's connection with Ben was stronger, since she had an affinity for the Force. Leia encouraged Han to build a bond with their son through physical contact. Han promised Ben that he would always keep them moving in the right direction, no matter what happened.
Ben grew up to be strong in the Force, just as his mother was. However, Leia began to notice that Ben found himself called towards the dark side. Worried for their son's future, they sent him to train with Luke Skywalker at his new Jedi Academy. Ben, however, felt as though his parents were abandoning him. He'd heard them speak about his Force powers, and how they were worried for his future. Sending him to the Jedi Academy felt like a final act of betrayal.
Ben spends over a decade training with Luke, and fighting back against his dark impulses. When he is twenty-three, Ben learns the truth about his grandfather over the HoloNet. Ben is shocked and betrayed by the fact that his family has kept Anakin Skywalker's true identity a secret from him for all these years. When Ben completely surrenders to the dark side, Leia and Han's marriage falls apart after. Han believes that there is too much Darth Vader in Kylo for him to be redeemed, but Leia believes that their son still has light in him.
Before Han leaves to infiltrate Starkiller Base, he shares a moment with Leia. She asks him to try and bring their son back, if he has the opportunity. Han agrees. He travels to Starkiller Base, and as the group is planting explosives Han spots his son. Remembering his promise to Leia, he approaches Kylo and begs him to come back to them. Kylo tells him that his "son" is gone, because he was weak; just like his father. Kylo tells him that he's being torn apart, and Han encourages him. He says that he'll do anything he can to help his son, and watches as Kylo holds out his lightsaber. Kylo ignites his saber, the blade cutting through Han's chest. Han reaches out to touch his son's face one last time, before he falls into the pit beneath them and dies.
One year later, on Kef Bir, Kylo encounters a memory of his father. Han appears to him in a vision, and tells Kylo that he misses him. Kylo once again tells him that his son is dead, but Han counters by saying "Kylo Ren is dead. My son is alive". Kylo tells him that it's too late for him to be redeemed, but the memory of Han encourages him to keep going. For the first time in a long time, Kylo calls Han "Dad". Han smiles and says "I know", implying that he can feel that his son loves him.
Fanon
KyloHan is a popular dynamic in the Star Wars fandom. Although some fans believe that Leia and Han were bad parents to Kylo, and that they sent him away to train with Luke because they did not love him, the majority of the fandom sympathizes with Han. They feel for the complicated relationship that he had with his son, and the moment in which he was betrayed by him. There are some fans who refuse to forgive Kylo for his actions in The Force Awakens, but those who believe that Kylo should be redeemed often see Han's actions as a knowing sacrifice to help bring his son home.
The relationship between Kylo and Han is very prominent in Kylo-redemption fanworks. Fans enjoy writing about Kylo coming home, returning to his parents as Ben. Others like to use this relationship in the canon setting, capitalizing on the angst that comes with the fact that Kylo murdered his own father.
There are currently over 475 works on AO3 for this pairing.
