Needing extra money to purchase a plane ticket to Hong Kong, Ryo starts working at a company in the harbor. He slowly earns the trust of another worker there named Mark who was looking for his son who joined the Mad Angels. Overhearing a conversation between Goro and Mai, Nozomi tails two members of the Mad Angels only to be caught and be used as a bargaining chip for Ryo to take out Guizhang.

Summary

A startled Ryo awakens in his room from a dream involving Lan Di and Shenhua. Later, Ryo visits a large travel agency to find a flight to Hong Kong. A travel agent there approaches speaks to him in Mandarin Chinese asking him if he's interested in a flight to Hong Kong and Ryo answers in Japanese making the agent realize he's Japanese. The agent then suggests the cheapest way to Hong Kong, which costs, 150,000¥.

Afterward, Ryo secretly watches Ine-san do the bills, and when she's done he's approached by Fuku-san. In his room, Ryo tells Fuku his need for 150,000¥ so he can visit Hong Kong. In light of this, Fuku generously offers the savings from his piggy bank as an offering. Despite Fuku's donation towards Ryo's trip to Hong Kong, he's still short on cash. Taking the bus to the harbor area, Ryo is gleefully met by Goro who insists on calling him "Bro" as a form of respect. To Goro's misunderstanding, he believed that he works for Jiu Feng Company and offers his services to him. With little hesitation, Ryo notes his need for cash so Goro offers to beat up a kid on the street for some, but Ryo stops him and says he'd like a job within the vicinity. In light of this, Goro exclaims that he knows everyone in the area and can help him find someone that can hire him. So, Goro takes Ryo to Mai who are acquainted with each other. She recalls that a place called Alpha Trading Company is hiring and when Ryo visits the place, the boss immediately hires him. The boss introduces him to the taciturn Mark who is requested to show him the ropes of how to operate a forklift.

Mark's forklift Lesson is brief, but Ryo gets the hang of it rather quickly. At the end of the day, Ryo says goodbye to Mark who coldly does the same, and Ryo is then warmly met by Ryo. Mark overhears most of it, but shows no visible interest, while Goro offers Ryo to show him around the neighborhood. He also warns Ryo about how dangerous the area is because of the Mad Angels. Without further adieu, Goro shows Ryo around the harbor, and toward the end, Ryo notices someone written the number 10 in chalk on the ground. Goro details that when his friends find a vacant warehouse they mark it down and he offers to have him join him, but Ryo declines. Later that night, Guizhang reflects on Ryo's words of being his father's child. Master Chen then appears and Guizhang asks him if it's alright to continue tailing Ryo, which, Master Chen replies it's a cover for him to keep an eye on him. Now since he's discovered the Phoenix Mirror it'd increase tensions with the opposing forces, but notes how shameful it is to fail Yuanda Zhu.

The following day Ryo continues his job as a forklift driver as Mark watches him from afar on his own forklift. That evening, Nozomi visits the Hazuki Residence and learns from Fuku-san that Ryo has taken up a job at the harbor. Fuku-san offers to relay a message, but Nozomi declines and leaves promising to return later. At the end of the workday, Ryo says goodbye to Mark, who simply waves his hand in approval, and Goro then arrives with a can of coffee. Curious to know why Goro is so kind to him and informs him how he never really knew his father and that he heard from Mai about his situation. Because of this, he vowed to help Ryo in hopes to garner enough courage to find his own father and hopes Ryo's able to continue his journey. Unbeknownst to the two, Mark was eavesdropping on their conversation. After Goro requests to one day visit his father's grave, Ryo asks him for a favor, to arrange a meeting with the Mad Angels.

Walking home, Ryo reflects on how Goro refuses to help him arrange a meeting with the Mad Angels as they'd kick him out of the port. Soon, Ryo runs into Guizhang and after a brief talk, they fight evenly matched until Guizhang uses a move called "Swallow Dive" and offers to teach Ryo the move there and then. When asked why he'd do such a thing, Guizhang answers that he failed to answer Ryo's question and claims if he were in his shoes, he'd do the same thing he was. Meanwhile, at the MJQ Jazz Bar, Terry is informed by his three men about how Ryo is snooping around their turf. That night, Ryo runs into Nozomi and they talk at the Sakura Park, and there Ryo elaborates to Nozomi his search for the truth behind his father's death. After Nozomi wishes Ryo the best of luck, Ryo asks if she still wants the advice that she once asked him, but declines the offer. At her home, she enjoys dinner with her grandmother and they talk about her father's proposal to have Nozomi sent to Canada.

The next day at work, Ryo makes a mistake amid the job and Mark offers to fix it for him. Meanwhile, as Nozomi works at her grandmother's Flower Shop, she's visited by Mai and Goro. It was Goro's plan to purchase flowers for Ryo's father's grave and Nozomi overhears the two talk about how Ryo plans to go up against the Mad Angels. Curious to know who the Mad Angels are, Goro then learns of Nozomi's relationship with Ryo from Mai, and haphazardly, Goro unintentionally reveals what the Mad Angels are all about. Although concerned for Ryo, Nozomi's grandmother asks her to make a delivery to Saijo's Bar.

At the harbor, Ryo confronts Mark and demands to know why he decided to teach him how to use a forklift, but Mark refuses to answer. Later, Mark is beaten by members of the Mad Angels for knowing Ryo, despite him denying the fact. When Ryo arrives at the scene, Mark pleads with him to flee, but he stays and defeats the men. Checking on Mark, Ryo learns that Mark reminds him of himself at some point in time. Mark's first impression of Ryo was another youngin' looking to make some cash for fooling around with, but that's not his motives. Mark also reveals that he heard his son sometime ago joined the Mad Angels. Elsewhere, Nozomi visits Saijo at his bar to deliver his order of flowers. There, Nozomi overhears a conversation between two men who mention the Mad Angels, and when she asks for more information on them from Saiju, he admonishes her from going any further than that. Despite this warning, Nozomi tails the two men to a Bistro & Bar and is confronted by a Mad Angel's member. Arriving home, Ryo learns from Ine-san that Nozomi's grandmother contacted her asking if she was with Ryo because she didn't return home from a delivery that she made. Shocked by the news, Ryo heads out to search for her, and outside of his residence, a motorcycle-riding Mad Angel envoy informs him to head to Warehouse 17. Hearing that Nozomi was captured by them, Ryo steals the Made Angel's motorcycle and rides it to the harbor.

Reaching the warehouse, Ryo meets with Terry who is surrounded by his men and a rope-bound Nozomi. Learning that Ryo is only after Lan Di of the Chi You Men, Terry agrees to release Nozomi only if he kills Guizhang. With two Mad Angels members behind him one wielding a knife to his back. Claiming to need to take a "leak", Ryo recalls what Goro once told him and marks the pier with the number 17 with some chalk. Afterward, Ryo meets with Guizhang, and the two fight until they both collapse. Terry watches the match between the two from the mid-part of their fight and laughs after the two collapses onto the ground.
