Robe

Friagne's Robe (長衣, Chōi^?) was a Treasure Tool constantly hovered around him. Its official name is not revealed in the story.

The Robe is believed to have powers such as movement and flight^[1] as it is shown to assist Friagne in evading attacks by Shana (and Margery Daw in the anime). It also appeared before Friagne making his appearance and followed his movement automatically.

Though not explicitly explained to be the Robe's ability, Friagne could stored weapons like a dozen of swords inside the Robe's shadow which he later gave them to his mannequins to use.^[2]

Appearance

The Robe takes the shape of a long white cloth-like object that constantly drifts around Friagne.^[1] The way it hovers gives viewers a vague impression, as if it were a ghost made of a bed sheet.^[3]

Background

It was not revealed if Friagne was the Robe's creator, or he acquired it during his hunt for Treasure Tools around the world. During the Flame Haze's Civil War, where he ventured into the United States to find a human who would help him create a Treasure Tool that could easily kill Flame Haze, Friagne already possessed the Robe.^[4]

Plot

Friagne was always seen with the Robe during his stay at Misaki City. However, the fate of it after his defeat was not clearly depicted in any adaptations.

In the novel

It is assumed that the Robe was destroyed along with its master when Alastor manifested due to the Trigger Happy and incinerated the rooftop of Yoda Department Store.

In the anime adaptation

The Robe was missing (or thrown away) when the distraught Friagne launched himself to Shana and was slashed by her.^[5]

In the film adaptation

Friagne no longer wore the Robe after he used the Dance Party on Marianne who aimed to explode herself at Shana. Even if it survived that explosion, it is assumed to have been destroyed by Alastor similarly to the novel.
