Squad 422 aka The Nameless are a penal military squadron made up of Gallian criminals, deserters and military offenders.
Unlike the regular militia and military their deeds are not officially recorded and upon joining their names are scrubbed away, replaced with a number instead. This squadron are sent on the deadliest missions as they are considered expendible by Gallian military higher ups.
They are the protagonists of Valkyria Chronicles 3 and Valkyria Chronicles 3: Extra Edition, and every member is given their own side story.
Squad 422 is lead by, Ramsey Crowe, who himself is not a Nameless member but a member of the Gallian Army.

Kurt's boss. a quite unreliable man. He lacks devotion to his superiors and even himself. Born to a third rate noble house, he spends his time with women and wine.
After Yuell's capture, the Nameless orders to operate in civilian dress for a sabotage mission didn't spark the slightest hint of regret or emotion in his reports. After being implicated in the Nameless coup, he was put under house arrest. He would have been fine with normally, but this was not the time to just goof off and do nothing. He discreetly brought charges against Isler and successfully court martialed him. His eloquent speech at the court martial surprised all those in attendance. After the treaty, he thought of retirement, but Fallia was in desperate need of talented individuals like him. While he never stopped complaining, he continued to train troops. |

A silent person, Imca rarely engages others in conversation. Aside from honing her combat skills, she cares little for anything else. Being a Darcsen is of no consequence.
She grew up in an Imperial Darcsen village named Tilka. Her home was annihilated in a flash by the pale blue flames of a demon. From that day on, vengeance consumes her. After Selvaria left this world, she lost her will to live, but Kurt asked her to find a new purpose in life. Now she has begun to reevaluate her life's purpose. Her strength stems from vengeance. Yet this strength isn't from a desire to be stronger. Rather, it comes from a will that is dedicated to defeating her enemies. After the war, when the Nameless disbanded she felt the need to atone for the lives she had taken. Kurt's happy that she's dedicated her life to peace and opened an orphanage. |

A 62 year old female squad member, who is in the "prime of her life." Despite calling herself a granny and not caring what others say, she despises being treated like one.
Even now she doesn't care what men say about her. "What was she like when she was young?" Whether it be luck or misfortune, she's never talked about it to others... Her life experience has taught her pompous stances and flashy words only mean so much. These things won't save Gallia. As she says, A road is a road, neither good nor evil. Living in the shadows meant that Gloria had already given up her nationality, so she remained in Gallia, returning to her work while telling tales of Amy and Annika. |

A man who is always willing to help other, Gusurg can be considered an older brother by many. Not only is he a skilled mechanic, but he's also quite cultured.
After being ordered to abandon Darcsens by the regular army, great anger and doubt began to rise within him about the country he was serving that would become a grudge. He was born to a well known Darcsen family and recieved fencing lessons when he was young. Although he's a tank pilot now, he still remembers his training. After deserting the Gallian military, he joined Calamity Raven. He truly believes in the dream of Darcsen independence and this became the new path he now follows. He was killed in action on October 10th, 1935. Even though he was defeated by Kurt, he gave his life fully pursuing his dream and died following his true convictions. |

A valedictorian of Lanseal Academy and diligent perfectionist, Kurt was once a promising 2nd Lt. of the Gallian Army, but an "incident" sent him to the Nameless.
After struggling to bring together the various members of the Nameless, he eventually gained their trust thanks to the success of the Mountain Offensive. After Gusurg's desertion, his squad was branded rogue, and the Gallian army were ordered to capture them. Gusurg fought back, protecting the capital city. His peculiar nature makes it hard for him to understand others, and others rarely understand him. People tend to think he's self-centered, but this is untrue. His creed "Work for progress, not for fame." Following the ceasefire, to end the Imperial menace, he gave up his citizenship, crossing the border to do a final military campaign. |

A head of curly blonde hair and the belly of a general, he's a true gentleman. A man who loves to take care of others, his big heart keeps the squad's morale high.
He is an honest man that treats everyone the same. His gossip and jokes are really a way for him to determine a person's age and identity without any restrictions. Once an outstanding detective that exposed evil, he abandoned the decietful aristocracy to help rid the world of evil. This is the path he has chosen. Discarding his own lordship, he paid little attention to nationality, and began underground detective work. He regrets being unable to rid his homeland of corruption. |

A talented woman who became a university professor at a young age, she endeavours to objectively study history. She's so focused that she often blocks out those around her.
Even in the middle of battle, she still studies history. She was sent to the Nameless due to her pursuit of an uncensored history. She wishes to use the clues found in Barious Desert to open a new page in Gallia's history. This goal has given her strong resolve to help end the war. After the war, she lost her position and achievements at the university and had to rely on foreign scholarly assistance. This hitch hasn't slowed down her passionate studies. |

Riela is an optimistic girl that cares for others. In her hometown, she worked hard, but was terrible at her studies. Unable to taste any difference in food, she enjoys them all.
After meeting Forster, she learned of her Valkyrian powers. However, the doctor told her that she was incapable of using her powers freely as she was a failure. It is said that powers of the Valkyria awaken when a person's life is threatened. If the Nameless are in a life and death crisis, Riela's Valkyria powers will awaken. When she was young, no one liked her...but her adopted parents gave her the love and warmth of a caring family. Her kind personality comes from such fond memories. After the final battle, she and Kurt settled down together in a tiny village in the Federation. Despite becoming Riela Irving, the couple's waiting to have their ceremony. |

She has a strong character and always likes to take care of others. As she's sensitive about her height, she's always claiming to be 150cm which is 1cm taller than she really is.
Her strong personality comes from her mom. Her mother hated her father's idleness and left when she was 10. Gloria has remarked "If you want to pick a wife, pick Amy". She has a strong desire to help the weak, as proven by her love for her father. Although this may not be suitable for all 15 year old girls, she is who she is. After the war, she wanted to follow Diet on his journeys, but he left alone. Gloria helped her find "legitimate" work but she feels her life is lacking something. |

She speaks crudely and treats others coldly; there's not an ounce of feminity in her. She also likes dark coffee and smoking tobacco.
She was a member of the police and followed Cedric into the Nameless after she heard the news. Working alone, she'll use any means necessary to capture him. She refuses to let Cedric die on the battlefield as a hero for his country. It is this contradiction that has made her fate linked to Cedric's life After the Nameless disbanded, she lost her citizenship and job. However, she uses underground connections to stay in wait for wherever Cedric will appear next. |

He has no interest in anything. He does jobs half heartedly, and hates to be tied down by rules. The only thing that isn't a bother to him is sleeping.
Even though he is exceedingly lazy, he does have a keen interest in music. Sadly, he seems to have given up on that halfway through, just like everything else. He would give his life for Riela and has a pure and simple love for her. It's a mystery for the ages why he can't channel that same passion into anything else. After the war, he couldn't chase Riela anymore and became a wandering traveler. He suddenly developed an interest in fishing and ended up becoming a fisherman. |

An open and graceful gentleman, other feel at ease talking to him. Despite his adept social skills, he's never revealed his true self to his peers.
After chasing the women of the Gallian Militia, he was sent to the Nameless. It's rumoured that he's already been rejected by 100 women. He was rejected by the one woman he truly loved at the tender age of 10. Since then, he's been afraid to devote himself, leading him to be as he is now. After the war, he lives on without his citizenship, and always in the company of women. However, he's unable to move on as he's never forgotten his first love. |

She likes to gamble and has a straightforward personality. The men all fawn over her beauty, but her constant T&A has caused the gay members to dislike her.
She joined the militia to make some money in a certain line of work. It's rumoured she's afraid of ghosts, which is the real reason she always sleeps with someone else. As long as she's paid, she can get any target to say what needs to be said. This is her creed. However, she never takes a job she doesn't like. She never was a citizen of the country, so after the war, she returned to her life as a spy. The information she gathered in the Nameless fetched top dollar. |

A man who acts exactly as he looks, filled with righteousness, all of his squadmates look up to him. He remains single, despite being a reliable and handsome man.
In the Regular Army, his abilities were well known to all, however, his way of thinking and acting, got him sent to the Nameless. His bravery is second to none. He lost his family in the First Europan War. Since then, his sense of family has become stronger. He views all his comrades as family and desires to protect them. After the war, he became a mercenary and continued to fight the Imperials. He gained the respect of many rich and powerful people, but his loose tongue keeps women away. |

Due to her dominating personality, she takes pleasure when others submit to her - truly a personality of a queen. She was sent to the Nameless due to her "outspoken" nature.
Homer Peron of the militia's 3rd Regiment Squad 7 is her younger brother. Her desire to "educate" men stems from her bond with him; each loving lash helping him to mature. She wishes for world peace and believes that if the men under Maximillian's command were "educated", the world's conflict would end. In her view, she's the only one for the job. Postwar, she began "educating" men around the world for world peace. Although useless men are found everywhere, it doesn't worry her. She now acts as their "teacher". |

A girl with a body brimming with energy. She won't stop until she obtains "true strength" and works dogmatically every day. Lively and likable, most jokes still fly over her head.
She views her punishment of being sent to the Nameless as a way to become stronger. Specializing in elbow strikes and kicks, she still seeks a sparring partner for training. In a flash, she realized the meaning of "true strength" and has since become even stronger. With Gloria's guidance, her bridal training improves: she can now cook carrots. After the war, she energetically embarked on a global tour to practice her martial arts. During breaks, she writes to Gloria, continuing their master-student bond. |

A man completely unattached to the world, he would be a top soldier no matter what uniform he wore. His firing skill and agility are unmatched.
He will be remembered as Gallia's greatest criminal. After sneaking into the Nameless to avoid the death penalty, he wonders what kill count a hero needs. He had always been escaping capture from Ada, but after she unexpectedly saved his life, he thinks of her in a much higher regard. After the war, he disappeared. Every time a large crime occurs in Gallia, people blame him as the crime lord, but such accusations are without merit. |

A silent and mysterious woman with an expressionless face. She has a mature face and a nice figure, but those eyes always seem to be hiding something.
She was sent to the Nameless because of a crime she committed, but she doesn't really care. Her life in prison has taught her to ignore others and eat almost anything. She was smart as a child but could never make any normal friends. Her only friends were the very flames that eventually got her arrested when they became too large. When they parted, Kurt told her to "stay out of jail" which she has dutily done. Fighting her urge to burn a whole mountain to ashes, she continues to work in a mine. |

A cheerful personality allows him to mingle with nearly anyone. But whenever he meets a woman, he can't help but hit on her, which has made others think he is just a flirt.
Sent to the Nameless after he was caught using military food supplies for personal use, he continues his gastronomical studies hoping to make his own wordly dish. "Cooking brings Happiness" is his creed. He believes cooking transcends religion, race, nationality and can bring us together. This is the source of his charm and vigor. After the war, he traveled around the world as a freelance chef, seeking his ultimate taste. His relaxed nature helps him adjust abroad, yet he still hasn't met Ms. Right. |

A dignified woman who loves flowers, she thinks of herself very highly and keeps away from the others. She can usually be seen with her flowers.
Born to an important military family, she graduated from Lanseal Royal Academy and became an officer in the Regular Army. She was a 2nd Lt., the same rank as Kurt. After being entrusted with a great responsibility, she no longer places honor and reuputation, over victory and the safety of her squadmates. She is always thankful for Kurt's teaching and respect. Although she's lost her citizenship, she remembers his words and continues her military service. |

Although weak looking, he once was a soldier of the Gallian Regular Army. He has an earnest and friendly demeanor, without an ounce of aggression in his words.
A strange man who volunteered for the Nameless. His meek appearance betrays his warlike nature. He saw Kurt's genius in battle instantly, and looks up to him. His terminal illness causes his depression. He yearned to give his life to the military and die on the battlefield. Kurt reminded him of the value of life; inspiring hope. "Without Kurt's order, I would have died." After the Nameless disbanded, he still considers Kurt his captain. He now spends his life as a peaceful mountain sheperd. |

A woman loved by all and dressed in white like an angel, the troops always welcome her in the hospital. She's become an elegant dancer for the sake of her diet.
Her pretty face and kindness have made her loved by all. However, she may have sacrificed too much and Felix begun to worry for her. Although she longs to see her lover again, she has resisted her love to walk the more difficult path. She's matured into a strong but loving woman. After the war, she joined a travelling dancing theater and entered the Empire. Using the picture in her pendant, she searches for her lover, day after day. |

A unique Darcsen man who is unwilling to socially integrate into his surroundings. He keeps himself to himself and only refers to his squadmates by their alias numbers.
Although he is tall, he is also unbelievably pessimistic, so he is not very attractive. As he was often beaten as a child, he has built up a very strong tolerance to pain. He has only one relative - a little sister named Dinah, who worked hard to provide for them. Relying on her weighed heavily on him; she'd always say, "Don't make such a face!" After the war, he used his wirework skills to earn a meager income as he traveled. He looked for Darcsen settlements abroad to teach others of the truth of their ancestry. |

Every day, he can be found underneath the bottle. He always speaks his mind, and often rambles on about the past. It's hard not to like his honesty.
Originally from Fhirald, after it's defeat in the First Europan War, he became a mercenary and joined the Gallian Militia. His drunkern conduct put him in Nameless. He claims he was a General in the Fhirald army, and passed his title to Jaeger after he retired. His tale may be false, but his heart for Fhirald is true. After the cease-fire, he returned to Fhirald's lands and ended his work as a mercenary. Using his connections, he now supports a "certain war veteran". |

A young man who keeps to himself, his strict and pragmatic nature makes him difficult to approach. Moreover, his silence makes his origins a mystery.
In his home land, men were taught that working silently is a virtue. Although he loves nature, he can rarely find the time to admire it due to his army life. His devotion to Princess Cordelia surpasses the average Gallian. After winning his squadmates trust, he's taken a liking to Annika's way of life. Hating being unable to fight for his country, he took Gloria's advice and became a bodyguard for a foreign Ragnite merchant to further support Gallia. |
#100 - Antonio Jose Rodriguez

Although he has no actual combat experience, Antonio Jose Rodriguez is a skilled combat instructor. No one actually calls him by his name, as he feels quite strongly about that.
Although he does not participate in combat, when the Nameless were declared rebels he became furious. He resolved to stay with them till the end to see their name cleared. After the war, Carisa found him a job as a weapon inspector in a "certain country". He lives a meager life with his wife, and never speaks of his unforgettable experiences. |
Trivia
- It can be assumed that at least some of the missing numbers belonged to Nameless soldiers who were killed in battle. Imca (#01) is stated to be the person who has been in the Nameless the longest, with Gloria (#03) being the second longest.
- Gloria states she has been within the Nameless for two years.
- Despite the Nameless being made of "criminals", many of their crimes are either jumped up charges are relatively minor. A few exceptions exist however: Cedric Drake has commited murder in his past, Giselle Fleming commited arson(albeit less to do with a malicious intent and more because she likes fire) and Gloria Durrell has been involved in several shady activities in her long career.
- Amy Apple is the only person Deit ever reveals his name to, with everyone else referring to him as #56.
- The Nameless tank appeared as a limited time purchase in World of Tanks Blitz, alongside Squad 7's Edelweiss and Radi Jaegar's Lupus.
