Imca (イムカ Imuka) is a major character from Valkyria Chronicles 3. She is a Darcsen, and Number 1 in the Squad 422, the Nameless.
Appearance
Imca is a young petite Darcsen woman, who wears her shawl as a ribbon tying her ponytail up. Over her uniform she wears various pieces of armour. As she has been self sufficient and living almost entirely off the land for a time, Imca is described as malnourished.
History
Imca originated from a small village, Tiluca, in Imperial territory just off the border from Gallia. Her relatively peaceful life was shattered four years ago when Selvaria Bles was overcome by her Valkyrur powers during a testing phase and eradicated the village by accident with Imca being the sole survivor. The image of her village shrouded in blue flames and the sight of a silver haired witch holding a lance and walking out of the smoldering remains of Tiluca haunts Imca to this day, and she swore to dedicate her life to avenging her village.
Imca survived off the lands for a while, having to teach herself about what foods were safe to eat through experimentation, having particular traumatic food poisoning from mushrooms and milk that put her off all types of each ever since, until the cold and snow of winter forced her to cross the border into Gallia.
Found nearly frozen to death by Lieutenant Ramsey Crowe, and invited to join the Nameless as it's very first member, and was assigned as Number 01. Under the Nameless Imca began to construct her personalised weapon, Vár, modifying it to become the ultimate anti-valkyrur weapon.
Imca is seen as the previous captain of the Nameless dies in Riela Marcellis' arms by Kurt Irving during a failed Nameless mission.
When Kurt joins the Nameless and is thrown into the commander role due to having the highest rank of the Nameless members, Imca is one of the few members who joins Kurt on his initial mission alongside Riela and Gusurg. However this is less out of respect for Kurt and more due to her confidence in her own skills as she is initially very cold and refuses any engagement from Kurt, simply answering with 'No' whenever he asks her any questions or requests.
Imca is revealed to be often insurbodinate to her commanders, and usually decides her own course of action, putting more faith in her own abilities than the judgement of higher ranking officers. When Kurt decides Imca's strength and ability is vital to an upcoming mission to take over the city of Aslone, Imca refuses to talk about the mission and attempts to lose him through a forest, although Kurt manages to catch up using his tracking skills. Realising Imca must have her own goal in mind, Kurt makes a deal; she will help Squad 422 survive the upcoming missions and in return Kurt and the rest of the Nameless will aid her when the time comes to help achieve her own goal. Imca agrees, giving her name as a sign of respect, but warns Kurt if he backs out the deal he should fear for his life from her.
During a joint mission with Squad 7, Imca meets Isara Gunther who helps put the finishing touches to Vár. Between them they also spot Calamity Raven and warn the rest of the Squad. After a battle, Captain Dahau, leader of Calamity Raven requests a meeting with Kurt and two Darcsen members of the squad with Imca and Gursurg going along. Dahau explains his desire for Darcsen independance from the borders of countries, words that impact Gursurg, but Imca is indifferent, not sharing the Darcsen vision and only caring about revenge on Selvaria.
Later during a raid on Ghirlandaio to assassinate the Imperial commander Maximillian, Imca comes across Selvaria in the flesh and freezes in terror after Selvaria unleashes a display of her power. After the battle thanks to Kurt Irving's emotional support Imca begins to regain her confidence.
After Squad 422 are labelled traitors by General Isler, the Nameless find themselves on the run from the Gallian army who pursue them more aggressively than even the Imperial Army. In order to save her squad mates, Riela Marcellis unleashes her Valkyrur powers to block the Gallian Army's path. However, Imca, suffering from PTSD at seeing a silver haired valkyrur enveloped in blue flame launched an attack at Riela, clashing with her in a violent struggle. Unable to harm Imca, Riela closes her eyes and Imca overpowers her with Vár, knocking her off her feet and knocking her out. Imca raises Vár above her head and is about to decapitate Riela, when a gunshot from Kurt deflects the weapon and he yells at her to calm down.
Upon calming herself Imca deeply regretted her outburst, realising that Riela was not Selvaria and does her utmost to protect Riela whilst she rests up, her body worn out from using the Valkyrur power. The two girls reconcile, and their friendship is improved as a result, trusting one another more whilst becoming friendly rivals for Kurt's affections.

Personality
Having been overcome with a thirst for vengence against Selvaria, Imca keeps her distance from her fellow Nameless members. She is self sufficient, but also tends to oversimplify things, seeking only more strength for her vengence. If something does not aid that goal, she usually dismisses it.
After Riela Marcellis reveals her ability to heal faster than most, Imca asks how she managed that as it'd be a useful ability against Selvaria. However, when Riela puts it down to drinking milk every day, Imca who once had food poisoning from milk, immedietly gives up on the idea.
This simple mindset, also ends up extending to her picky eating habits, as after getting poisoned by a mushroom during her scavenger days, she now has such an adverse reaction to mushrooms that even the idea of one can turn her stomach. This ends up being used by both Kurt and Riela to subtly manipulate Imca into being more helpful towards the rest of her squad.
Imca isn't completely above being impressed however, with Kurt's ability to track her down combined with his confusing wording at the beach about her being cute (after Riela tells him that girls don't want a proper analysis on their swimwear, they just want to be told they're cute) and emotional support makes her slowly grow feelings towards him. She is easily embarrassed about this however as seen when she hands him a blanket gift that she hand sews with a Darcsen pattern on it but tries to pass it off as the blanket he gave her in order to deal with a cold night.

Trivia
- Imca's personalised weapon Vár is the only weapon any character keeps across all class changes. However it does have subtle visual changes depending on what class Imca is assigned, such as adding a sniper scope if she is turned into the Sniper class.
- Imca has a personalised ability "Open Fire" that allows her to multi lock on to several enemies within her field of vision and bombard them with special mortar blasts from Vár. This ability can be used regardless of what class she is, allowing her to be a very flexible unit.
- Imca's hatred of certain things comes down to previous experiences. She got food poisoning from mushrooms and milk and her hatred of cold comes from when she nearly froze to death.
- Imca is the longest surviving member of the Nameless, and the only one to join voluntarily.
- Imca is one of the few Darcsen who doesn't have the Darcsen prejudice central to their story. Despite this, her vengence with Selvaria Bles mimics the Darcsen Calamity, which was caused by the Valkyrur but blamed on the Darcsen.
- When Squad 422 take a photo together as proof of their deeds, Imca is concerned that her soul will be stolen by the picture. This is a real life superstition during the early days of photography.
- In Project X Zone, Imca is a solo unit. As Valkyria Chronicles 3 didn't recieve a western release, this is Imca's western debut. She joins in Chapter 17: Operation Crackdown.
