Kangali was designed by the player Trivec for the Combat Pets Competition.^[1] The boxing kangaroo is a national symbol of Australia.
"Ali" in Kangali is likely a reference to boxer Muhammad Ali.
During one of the possible dialogue options, Kangali refers to beating Hal'Toro in a fight. Hal'Toro was the second option for the Strength pet in the tie-breaker poll that Kangali won.
