On Roblox, an item represents an object created on the website by a user and is owned by either the user or one of the user's groups with permission. An item may contain content uploaded by a user. A user who publishes items is known as a "creator". To distinguish items from other content, each item has at least one unique number known as an ID which is generated by the website.
Types
There are six ID types for items: Asset ID, Bundle ID, Universe ID, Pass ID, Developer Product ID, and Badge ID.
Items that belong to an asset type are available on either the Marketplace or the Creator Marketplace:
- Items on the Marketplace that belong to the Avatar include accessories, emotes, faces, gear, heads, classic pants, classic shirts, and Classic T-shirts.
- Items on the Creator Marketplace that do not belong to the Avatar include animations, audio, decals, images, Lua items, meshes, mesh parts, models, plugins, and videos.
UGC
- Main article: User-generated content
