History
Staphylus was born to Dionysus and Ariadne before his mother became immortal, making him a demigod. He sailed with the Argonauts and founded the colony of Peparethos. Eventually became the king of Naxos, married Chrysothemis and fathered three daughters: Rhoeo, Parthenos and Hemithea.
However, despite his achievements, he would inherit his father’s worst qualities. One day, his youngest daughters, Parthenos and Hemithea, were playing in his wine cellar and broke a vad of his best wine. He sentenced them to death for this, but as the guards chased them they prayed to Artemis for help, and they jumped off of a cliff and the king presumed them to be dead.
However, they were saved and made immortal by Apollo and went on to join the Hunters of Artemis.
