Abubu

Not part of Riordanverse

The following article/section is from the Sikander Aziz series continuity under Rick Riordan Presents and not the Riordanverse canon.

Gilgamesh-RR

Abubu, also known as Sky Cutter, is a sword, the signature weapon of Gilgamesh after giving up Kasusu. He later gives it to Sikander Aziz.

City of the Plague God

After taking a vow of non-violence, Gilgamesh turned his sword into a shovel that he uses for planting. Millennia later, he uses it to intimidate Asakku during Nergal's Plague and to create a massive hurricane that Sikander Aziz is able to seed with Mo's Promise to cause the Big Rain.

The Loneliest Demon

Sik now owns Abubu which is kept under the counter at Mo's by the Aziz family because Sik's parents don't want him keeping a shovel in his room despite Sik explaining what Abubu actually is. Sik rejects a suggestion to use it against Rabisu by both his parents and Belet Amari who offers him advice on how to wield Abubu against the demon.

When Sik and Rabisu visit Petar, he shows them a drawing that he had made of Gilgamesh using Abubu to help dig the foundations of the United Nations building.

After Rabisu takes off to use Gilgamesh's seal to open the Nedu Gate and get home, Sik bring Abubu with him as he tries to stop her. While stuck in the subway, Sik uses the shovel to break a window in order to get out, although Sik gets annoyed when the legendary Sky Cutter takes two hits to break the window instead of getting it in just one hit.

Working to seal the gate, Sik uses Abubu to kill several Anunna. Every time one of the creatures is hit with the shovel, lightning bursts from the shovel and disintegrates the creatures on impact, ripping open the darkness and driving the creatures back, at least for a moment. As they cross the intersection of the multiverse, the shovel's energies multiply as it hurls violent sparks in all directions and Sik nearly hits Sal Vidón as he passes by on a unicorn. After reaching Gilgamesh's ring, Sik destroys it with Abubu, sealing the gate in a massive explosion that flings Sik and Rabisu back to their universe.

Fury of the Dragon Goddess

It's mentioned that Gilgamesh gave Abubu to Sikander Aziz. After finding Rabisu with him, Belet Amari complains that he didn't use Abubu to dispatch the demon. Later, Sik mentions that he didn't bring it with him on vacation, having expected a peaceful, fun time.
