The Phantom Lingerie (怪異・残されぱんつ, Kaii nokosare pantsu?) is the 234th chapter of the Ranma ½ manga and the only chapter of the Phantom Lingerie Arc.
Summary
Happosai finds a girls dormitory filled with bras and panties, but as soon as he gets them home they turn into paper. Ranma and Akane investigate Sainokawahara Dorm where he got the panties to find out what's going on.
Plot Overview
Akane is returning home one night and sense that something is strange. She spots Happosai in his usual panty raids and move on, but realizes that his haul came from the old, abandoned Sainokawahara Dorm.
Next morning, Happosai wakes up screaming. He splashes Ranma with water and demands to know what she did with his treasure. Ranma has no idea what he's talking about, but sees that Happosai is in possession of a bunch of bra and panty shaped papers. Happosai claims that when he raided the dorm, there wasn't anything wrong with the haul. Unable to get Ranma to admit what she did with his collection, he starts fondling her and get flung out of the house.
Akane comments that she's been feeling strange, especially about Happosai. She and Ranma ask the weakened Happosai who is still struggling with losing his collection. Happosai creep towards Akane asking her if she's wearing the panties and is immediately smashed into the floor.
Just then a floating, glowing bra comes in the room and leads Happosai out of the house. They follow the bra to the abandoned Sainokawahara Dorm to find it new and hanging with lingerie. Joyous Happosai starts filling his bag and gets ready to leave when a spectral underwear floats toward Ranma. Akane gets behind him screaming. He prepares to face his opponent, but it turns out to be an old woman crying and asking him if he would like to take her panty.

The headmistress tells them that before she died, she would often hear complaints from the girls that their lingeries were being stolen, but hers stood alone and untouched on the clothes line. She died feeling unwanted.
Akane, understandably confused, brings about what needs to be done: her panty must be stolen for her to move on. When she says that having your panties stolen is not suppose to be a good thing, the headmistress becomes even more depressed when she realizes that Akane also had her share of stolen panties. Akane remarks that such a thing is not supposed to be envied. The headmistress reveals that she cast a spell on the papers that Happosai had been stealing, and Happosai will die unless he steals her panties before dawn.
Ranma holds Happosai up to the extra large undergarments belonging to the headmistress telling him that it's the only way for him to go back to the way things used to be, but he refuses. When the headmistress tells them that it doesn't matter who steals it as long as its stolen, Ranma and Happosai begin fighting for who should be stealing it, with Ranma blaming Happosai for the whole situation and Happosai accusing Ranma of not caring about his master. Happosai uses Happo-Fire Burst and runs away saying that he'd rather die than steal those panties.
As Happosai continues to rob the neighborhood Ranma steals his precious bag and leads him back to the dorm. There Ranma displays Happosai's collection on clothes line. Among Happosai's usual treasure trove also contained headmistress's undergarment that had been rolled up and placed next to other lingerie so it would be hard to spot. However, Happosai is able to recognize the trick immediately and refuses to take it.

The headmistress gives up and decides to just pass on, but not before giving Happosai one final curse: he will become a lost soul that will wander the Earth and stealing lingerie every night forever. As dawn creeps in, a frightened Ranma shoves Happosai's bag inside the giant undergarment. When Happosai takes the bag back, the headmistress sees it as having her panties stolen, and joyfully passes on, with angel wings, halo, and accompanied by cherubims. Happosai appears petrified with a tear in his eyes, but Ranma and Akane are just glad that the ordeal is over.
