Fainting in a dungeon results in losing all Poké not stored in the bank, or only half of the Poké in Gates to Infinity.

Pokémon Channel
Poké[1] is the currency used in Pokémon Channel, although its symbol is still shared with the Pika Points in Hey You, Pikachu!. The first time that the player receives Poké is from Professor Oak, who gives them 20 Poké after they watch the first part of Pichu Bros. in Party Panic! and submit a report through the channel Prof. Oak Report. Any Poké earned can be spent at Shop 'N Squirtle to purchase various items, most essentially the bus passes, which are required to visit Viridan Forest, Mt. Snowfall, and Cobalt Coast each.
One method to earn Poké is creating art using the Smeargle 2 and then giving it to Professor Oak, who attempts to sell it on their behalf. When the player accesses the Report Channel again at some point, Oak informs them that the art has sold for a certain amount of Poké, usually ranging from 50 to 500 Poké, depending on the amount of effort put into the art. The art is always acquired by Smeargle to put on display in his own art show, Smeargle's Art Study.
Poké can also be earned by guessing questions correctly on either of the Quiz Channels: Quiz Wobbuffet or Odd One Out; this method is mentioned by Professor Oak at the start, shortly after giving the player their first 20 Poké. On Quiz Channels, the player earns more Poké if they answer the question quicker. Poké can earned through this method in general, because if the player correctly answers a trivia question given by a Pokémon, they earn usually 10 Poké.
