- 25 – Kingdom Hearts III released.
April
- 10 – Prop Culture, under the working title Cinema Relics: Iconic Art of the Movies, was announced as one of a number of series for Disney+, which features a unique look at beloved films, including Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.[1]
May
- 10 – It is reported that the mist projection with Davy Jones and Blackbeard was officially removed from Walt Disney World's Pirates of the Caribbean ride.[2]
September
- 12 – Disney launched Disney+ in the Netherlands as part of a Beta test in which Dutch users can use Disney+ for free until November 12, the service's launch date. All five Pirates of the Caribbean films (The Curse of the Black Pearl, Dead Man's Chest, At World's End, and On Stranger Tides, and Dead Men Tell No Tales/Salazar's Revenge) were among the selection of movies and shows available in the Disney+ trial.[3]

- 14 – Disney confirmed on Disney+ Twitter that The Curse of the Black Pearl, Dead Man's Chest, At World's End, and On Stranger Tides would be among the selection of movies and shows available at the Disney+ launch date,[4][5][6][7] while Dead Men Tell No Tales remained on Netflix due to the contract between Netflix and Disney.
