The Piklopedia is an in-game list of all the creature protists, fungi and other plants in various games of the Pikmin series, including Pikmin 2, Pikmin 3 Deluxe, and Pikmin 4 that you have come in contact with throughout your exploration. When using Piklopedia, the scenery will change depending on what region the Hocotate Ship is hovering on (in the area selection screen). Pikpik Carrots can also be thrown at enemies to see their reaction, and Ultra-Bitter Spray can also be used on the non-plant creatures (the in-game spray count will not change). It is the counterpart to the Treasure Hoard, which shares the same music as the Piklopedia. Every organism in the Piklopedia has a description from Olimar including the species and full Latin name, and a brief instruction of how to cook such an organism written by Louie.
In Pikmin 3, the Piklopedia is nowhere to be seen, but was added as a feature in Pikmin 3 Deluxe. The Piklopedia for that game works similarly to that of Pikmin 2.
In Pikmin 4, the Piklopedia can only be obtained once you rescue castaway Dalmo, in then which he gives you the ability to use the Piklopedia while in the Rescue Corps Base. The Piklopedia in this game is quite different than the others, because Olimar's logs cannot be seen until more than half-way through the game. The same goes for Louie, but only when you beat the game. The only logs you can read before you retrive Olimar and Louie are from Dalmo, the very one who gives you the Ability to use the Piklopedia. Once you beat the game, you have access to all 3 captain's logs, including Dalmo's. This feature is shared with the Treasure Catalog in Pikmin 4.
