Chet is a castaway found as a leafling within Pikmin 4. Chet can be found in Dandori Battles or as a leafling castaway in some caves. He is the leader of the Research Task Force.

Chet can be found in caves or Dandori Battles based on the player's progression.
Mechanics
Chet provides the Side Mission of "Precious Scientists." This will reward the player with 50 Raw Materials for rescuing all 9 members of the Research Task Force.
Please find the other members of the research group I came here with! Losing them would be a blow for the entire galaxy. I really need you to come through for me here.

Dialogue
When interacting with the Player Character:
- "But why did everyone crash here in the first place? Was it all just bad luck?"
- "You two have saved so many lives. I honestly can't thank you enough. But this planet's a big place. Let's hope that there aren't any more crash victims stuck out there."
- "Weather's nice today. Makes me want to fill up on Ren's food and take a long nap."
- "Hey, great job on another day of hard work. With you around, the Rescue Corps has nothing to worry about. Everyone in my task force does such excellent work, too, that there's not much for me to do. Usually I just end up napping. They get the work done like the pros they are. They're pretty amazing."
- "What's my job? Hmm, well, I guess you could say I stay out of the way and nap a lot. I'm joking! I take care of environmental concerns so the others are free to immerse themselves in their research."
- "Everyone's talking about how amazing you are. The Rescue Corps's reputation has really skyrocketed thanks to you!"
- "We have a botanist, a biologist, a geologic surveyor, a meteorologist, an ecologist, and even an archaeologist. All my researchers are experts in their fields. They carry the weight of their homeworlds' expectations with them."
- "Thanks to your saving Ren, I have access to delicious foods again. With all of this going on, I'll bet everyone is completely exhausted. Maybe I'll ask for some comfort food for us. Heh, I wonder if he could whip up a meal using local wildlife! On second thought, I don't imagine anyone would want to eat that."
- "Our team came here at the request of the Interstellar Federation to investigate this planet. Would it make a good living environment? What are the natural resources like? We're here to collect info to help everyone."
When interacting with Oatchi:
- "Well, aren't you just so fluffy and soft! Want to kick back for a nap with me?"
- "Oh, hey there, buddy! Look who's super happy today!"
Trivia
- Just like any cured leafling, Chet's hair color will be the same as his previous leafling color, which means Chet can be rescued with purple, yellow, green, pink, or blue hair!
