Bisley

Devil Fruit
English Name:
Hedgehog SMILE

Bisley is a Shinuchi[3] of the Beasts Pirates and part of the Armored Division led by Sasaki.[1]

During the Raid on Onigashima, he was tamed by the power of the Kibi Kibi no Mi and joined the side of the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance.[2]

Appearance

Bisley is a rotund man with long, pale green hair and a short beard, both in the form of hedgehog spines. His nose is darker than his skin and he has a unibrow. He wears a dark green shirt and light green pants with purple suspenders. His belt buckle bears a skull insignia and the word "HARI" (針, "needle; spine").

Personality

Despite his playful expression, Bisley is quite timid and scared of enemies, only willing to fight from a distance.[3]

Abilities and Powers

As a Shinuchi of the Beasts Pirates, Bisley has authority over lower-ranking subordinates.[3]

Devil Fruit

Bisley ate a Hedgehog SMILE (ハリネズミのSMILEスマイル, Harinezumi no Sumairu?), an artificial Zoan-type Devil Fruit which transformed all of his hair into spines.[3] This offers him a form of defense against enemies, but does not protect him from ranged, shock wave-based attacks.[4]

Weapons

Bisley uses a bow and arrows as his weapon, attacking enemies from a distance.[1]

History

Wano Country Saga

Wano Country Arc

During the Raid on Onigashima, Bisley and the rest of the Armored Division targeted Momonosuke under the orders of Sasaki.[1] However, he was defeated by a ranged kanabo swing shock wave from Yamato, who fought to protect Momonosuke.[4]

During Franky's fight with Sasaki, Tama, with help from Usopp, was able to tame a recovered Bisley as well as the rest of the Armored Division and led them to the Live Floor.[5] After Tama gave her order for her friends to help the Straw Hats, Bisley followed Nokokuwa Police's lead back to the Right-Brain Tower to help aid Franky in fighting the Beasts Pirates. He and the rest of the Armored Division were eventually taken out by Sasaki's Heliceratops.[2]

Bisley was later seen along with other recovered members of the Armored Division asking Franky to help them escape the fire trapping them in the Right-Brain Tower.[6] He was later swept away by the torrent of water flowing through Onigashima with the rest of the Armored Division.[7]

Anime and Manga Differences

In the anime Bisley was one of the Gifters who held down the General Franky.[8]

The manga's depiction of the Armored Division being swept away by Zou's water is unclear, with those being swept up too small to properly make out. The anime, instead, clearly shows those swept away to be Bisley, Scorpionlady, and Caucasusman.[7]
