MEIDO is a character and NPC in OMORI. She is one of the three mysterious BETA CHARACTERS encountered on ONE DAY LEFT of the OMORI ROUTE, only in THE NEIGHBORHOOD.

APPEARANCE
MEIDO is a monochrome girl with black hair tied into long wavy pigtails. She notably possesses two large eyes and a wide smile. MEIDO's outfit consists of her wearing a dark-colored dress with a white apron, likely resembling that of a maid's clothes. She also has black shoes to complete her playful appearance.
PERSONALITY
Not much can be currently inferred about MEIDO's personality due to her only appearing once in-game, and the lack of dialogue from the character herself besides the high-pitched noise she emits when interacted with.
STORY
After OMORI rescues BASIL from BLACK SPACE on the OMORI ROUTE, MEIDO will appear at THE NEIGHBORHOOD as a hidden character on ONE DAY LEFT. Though, this can be only done if the area's secret entrance is initiated through either DEEP WELL or LOOPING FOREST. For more info on how to trigger them, see the location's alternate entrances.
MEIDO can be found south of the neighborhood, located near the dark-colored pond. Getting close to MEIDO will cause her to emit a high-pitched noise while turning around to face OMORI. This also causes the screen to briefly glitch as MEIDO vanishes from the overworld. She cannot be found anywhere else, as her encounter is a one-time-only event.

- MEIDO's overall design appears to resemble SWEETHEART, possibly serving as an early version of the character. Her outfit is presumably referenced through SWEEPHEART, the form SWEETHEART takes on after being consumed by HUMPHREY and supervised by PERFECTHEART.
- The noise that MEIDO makes when facing OMORI is labeled as SE_bs_little_scream.
- MEIDO's early overworld sprite greatly resembles the spritework used for Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea, a RPG Maker 2000 video game created by Deep Sea Prisoner.
- MEIDO is somewhat similar to Monoko from Yume Nikki, with her black-and-white color palette, pigtails, and wide-eyed stare.
