Story Time

Story Time (originally known as “And Then What Happened”) is a short-form original/package series that aired during commercial breaks on Noggin. It is a selection of story-like clips, often ending with a child telling his or her version of the story. Later, new segments were made, often featuring Moose and Zee, or a celebrity.

Like the opening and closing, the segments were mostly original footage, with only few being pre-existing scenes.

Logline

"Jack climbs the beanstalk. The big, bad wolf fails to blow down the three little pigs' house of bricks. But have you ever asked yourself: And then what happened?" "What would preschool be without stories? And what would our lives be without storytelling? In addition to NOGGIN's half-hour series', the network offers children inter-programming specials aimed at instigating curiosity and firing their imaginations. Story Time offers a series of shorts that feature stories - and storytelling - in a fresh way. Story Time shorts give your child familiar fairy tales told with the original characters and plots in an engaging animated style. But this time, at the conclusion of the original stories' audiences are treated to additional chapters in the tales from the inventive minds of preschoolers. These new expanded sequels are narrated by the children that created them while the viewer witnesses a fanciful new conclusion unfurl within the animation." (link)

History

The segments aired on Noggin from April 1, 2002 until September 2009. The And Then What Happened? segments were animated by Unplugged Studio in Toronto, Canada. (source)

Format

In the opening, a girl goes sailing on a newspaper boat, and raises a flag with the logo. Moose A. Moose announces that it's now "Story Time" on Noggin. In the closing, the boat sails all the way to the Noggin logo with a link to Noggin.com. In the mid-2007 closing, the link was changed to DailyNoggin.com.
