Void (Xenoblade)

Void, referred by Luxaar as the Great One is a character in Xenoblade Chronicles X and the original master of the Vita. He is the primary antagonist of Chapter 13 of the Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition. Void is the creator of the Ganglion and took part in the attack on Earth while piloting the Vita. However, somewhere around the time the Ganglion were sent to Mira, he disappeared and only his Skell remained. Because of his machinations, Void is the main antagonist of Xenoblade Chronicles X as he is directly responsible for the various events of the game.

Appearance

Void's actually body is not seen throughout the game, instead, he utilizes his vessel, Vita as his main body. Additionally, he absorbs the Ares' core which incorporates into himself. After merging with the Ares, Void becomes an ethereal blue being with many tentacles and six openings on his chest where he uses the power of the cores.

Void is extremely emotionless and nihilistic of life, wishing to know what death is; believing there's no meaning to anything as he is unable to understand the concept, justifying his genocidal tendencies and not caring about the lives lost, whether if it his fellow Ganglion or other life he looks down on.

However once the Spears of Samaar begin to restrain his power and continued resistance from the party and Al, Void's emotionless demeanor collapses completely, showing frustration and anger. Ultimately, Void exposed himself as a coward, so afraid of those who want to end his existence, choosing to run away from this reality.

Lore

  • The Ganglion and specifically Luxaar worship Void.
  • As the master of the Vita, he is able to use its full potential, unlike someone like Luxaar, who can only use 30% of its strength.
  • Void was once a Samaarian scientist obsessed with studying the Conduit, the source of infinite energy. Using it, he created the Ares.
