The following is a list of items that appear in NieR:Automata. They can be quest-related, drop from enemies or found throughout the world, and serve different functions.

Restorative Items

Restorative Items heal damage received and alleviate status ailments. Up to 99 of each may be held.

	Skill Salve (S)	Skill gauge replenishes twice as fast for 15 seconds.

	Impact Bracer (S)	Prevents staggering from an attack for 15 seconds.
	Impact Bracer (L)	Prevents staggering from an attack for 30 seconds.
	Popola's Booze	Increase the power of weapon-based attacks by 50% for 30 seconds. Also restores 100% HP.

Support Items

Support Items influence general gameplay interactions, mostly for a limited time. May also distort vision/sound depending on the type of item consumed.

	Animal Bait	Give to an animal in order to ride them.
	Small G Luck+	Enemies drop more money for 15 seconds.

	E-Drug	Disrupts auditory & visual feed for 30 seconds while generating other random effects.
	Forbidden Fruit	A fruit that has been said to grant knowledge to whoever eats it. Decreases player level by 10.

Materials

Materials encompass a wide range of resources, including (but not limited to) junk, high-value metals, and animal/machine matter. Often required for certain quests, but are generally used to upgrade weapons and pods in the player's possession.

	Copper Ore	Ore containing copper. It's usually mined, but for some reason, this stuff is lying around everywhere.
	Iron Ore	Mined ore containing iron. Iron can be extracted by heating it to 3000 degrees in a furnace.
	Silver Ore	Mined ore containing silver. Human history states silver was used to defeat demons, but machines seem impervious.
	Gold Ore	Mined ore containing gold. Humans treasured gold as a valuable mineral, but to machines it's worthless.
	Rusted Clump	Rusted, beat up ore.
	Dented Plate	A heavily dented metal plate.
	Titanium Alloy	Alloy composed of rare metals.
	Memory Alloy	Alloy composed of rare metals.
	Beast Hide	Skin acquired from a wild beast.
	Broken Key	A broken, unusable winding key.
	Warped Wire	A completely bent, twisted wire.
	Stretched Coil	A stretched out, unusable coil.
	Broken Circuit	A broken, unusable circuit.
	Stripped Screw	A worn down, unusable screw.
	Pristine Screw	A newly made screw.
	Small Gear	A small gear for something.
	Large Gear	A large gear for something.
	Rusty Bolt	A rusted, beat up bolt.
	New Bolt	A newly made bolt.
	Crushed Nut	A crushed, flattened nut.
	Clean Nut	A newly made nut.
	Dented Socket	A dented, unusable socket.
	Sturdy Socket	A socket to be used in a plug.
	Severed Cable	A cut, unusable cable.
	Pristine Cable	A newly made cable.
	Broken Battery	A broken, unusable battery.
	Large Battery	A long-lasting battery.
	Machine Arm	The arm unit of a machine lifeform.
	Machine Leg	The leg unit of a machine lifeform.
	Machine Torso	The torso unit of a machine lifeform.
	Machine Head	The head unit of a machine lifeform.
	Crystal	A cluster of mined crystals.
	Pearl	A brilliantly shining pearl.
	Black Pearl	A large pearl with a black luster. Extremely rare.
	Pyrite	Mined ore that sets off sparks when hit.
	Amber	Mined ore. A semi-translucent jewel created from petrified tree sap.
	Moldavite	Mined ore. A beautiful green jewel.
	Meteorite	A piece of meteor, fallen from outer space.
	Meteorite Shard	A piece of meteorite that fell to the earth.
	Simple Gadget	A gadget so simple you don't know what it's for.
	Elaborate Gadget	A gadget so elaborate you don't know what it's for.
	Complex Gadget	A gadget so complex you don't know what it's for.

	Tree Seed	A seed fallen from a tree.
	Plant Seed	A seed of some plant. Seems it would be tricky to grow.
	Tree Sap	A sticky substance secreted from tree stumps.
	Mushroom	A fungus that grows at the roots of trees.
	Eagle Eggs	Eggs laid by an eagle.
	Giant Egg	Very large for a chicken.
	Torn Book	A book too worn to read.
	Tech Manual	A tech manual written in letters you can't understand.
	Thick Dictionary	A thick book thought to be a dictionary.
	Pure Water	Clear, pure water.
	Tanning Agent	A compound used when producing leather.
	Dye	A liquid used for coloring.
	Natural Rubber	An elastic substance extracted from plants.
	Machine Oil	Oil that leaked from machines.
	Filler Metal	A metal used in welding.
	Moose Meat	Meat procured from a moose. Can be exchanged for money.
	Boar Meat	Meat procured from a boar. Can be exchanged for money.
	W. Moose Meat	Meat from a white-furred moose. Can be exchanged for money.
	W. Boar Meat	Meat from a white-furred wild boar. Can be exchanged for money.
	Shattered Earring	An earring worn by humans. Can be exchanged for money.
	Drab Bracelet	A bracelet worn by humans. Can be exchanged for money.
	Lovely Choker	A choker used by humans. Can be exchanged for money.
	Precious Earrings	Earrings worn by humans. Can be exchanged for money.
	Desert Rose	A rose that bloomed in the desert. Can be exchanged for money.
	Ancient Mask	An old mask left behind by a machine lifeform. Can be exchanged for money.
	Machine Core	A part obtained from a machine lifeform. Can be exchanged for money.
	Pascal's Core	The core of a machine lifeform containing a copious amount of data. Can be exchanged for money.
	Children's Cores	The cores of children from Pascal's village. It is clear they were cherished by the villagers. Can be exchanged for money.
	Pascal's Book	A book on life and death. It was lying outside of Pascal's house, in a thoroughly used state. Can be exchanged for money.

Key Items

Key Items feature appearance-changing implements, jukebox records, and objects necessary for progressing through the game. The majority of key items in the player's inventory cannot be discarded, and a select few are removed depending on the task at hand.

	Book: "Pensées"	A book of philosophy that Anemone gave you. Its title means "thoughts" in an ancient language.
	Fuel Filter	A filter used by androids to refine fuel.
	Forest Access Key	Unlocks a Tower sub-unit in the Forest Kingdom.
	Ocean Access Key	Unlocks a Tower sub-unit in the Flooded City.
	Park Access Key	Unlocks a Tower sub-unit in the Amusement Park.
	Jean-Paul's Letter	Jean-Paul's letter. It reads: "I've left to seek the truth of the world. Throw that trash away!"
	Memory Chip	The bloodied memory chip of a machine lifeform. Says its allies were destroyed by the resistance.
	Man's Journal	A journal left behind by a man. Thoughts about his fallen comrades are spelled out within.
	Letter for Jean-Paul	A letter addressed to Jean-Paul that seems to contain a question. You shouldn't read it.
	Beautiful Glass	Beautifully polished glass intended for Jean-Paul.
	Machine Fossil	An old, rusty machine fossil intended for Jean-Paul.
	Rusty Music Box	A rusted musical box that can no longer play.
	Viscous Oil	High-viscosity oil used by machine lifeforms.
	Package	A package that was kept in the Resistance's materials storeroom. Its contents are unknown.
	Broken Toy	Created by humans, this broken toy no longer works.
	Accounting Book	A book humans used for recording family finances.
	Small Shoe	A small shoe thought to have been worn by a human girl.
	Toothbrush	A tool humans used to brush their teeth. Reduces the probability of cavities.
	Cosmetics	A cosmetic item humans would rub on their lips to make themselves beautiful.
	Dietary Goods	Used by humans to reduce fat levels caused by consuming more energy than necessary.
	Writing Implement	A tool for recording information. Records indicate these were believed to be mightier than swords.
	Medical Journal	A book of pharmaceuticals for living organisms that already existed in the Pod's database.
	Data Chip A	A chip containing a data log on A2. Heavily damaged, there is little that can be analyzed.

	Machine Part	Part of a machine lifeform. May have something to do with the treasure of the forest.
	Stamp	A stamp from the amusement park.
	Stamp Card	A card used for collecting stamps at the amusement park.
	Aged Stick	A stick of unknown purpose.
	Filthy Mask	A weighty stone mask. It's as dirty as it is heavy.
	Commandment Slab	A slab with the laws of an ancient country written upon it. Many of them don't make sense.
	Statue of a Girl	A statue in the shape of a young girl.
	Rigid Tree Bark	Taken from a plant with tough bark. Necessary for creating a fuel filter.
	Toy Material	Materials necessary for building toys.
	Sachet	A pouch that emits a scent animals love. Prevents them from running when approached.
	Quality Sachet	A pouch that emits a scent animals love. Lets you ride them anytime you want.
	Choice Sachet	A pouch that emits a scent animals love. Causes them to approach and wait for you.
	Sound Data 1	Listen to nice BGM on the jukebox. Part 1 of a set of 5.
	Sound Data 2	Unlock more BGM on the jukebox. Part 2 of a set of 5 amazing soundtracks.
	Sound Data 3	Unlock more BGM on the jukebox. Part 3 of a set of 5 soundtracks in extremely high demand.
	Sound Data 4	Unlock more BGM on the jukebox. Part 4 of a set of 5 highly anticipated soundtracks.
	Sound Data 5	Unlock more BGM on the jukebox. The final part in possibly the best soundtrack series ever.

	Record: CEO	Unlocks extra BGM for the jukebox. A kick-ass soundtrack for the best CEOs in the world.
	Grimoire Weiss	[Pod Model] A high-capacity device used in the Gestalt Project. It exudes a vague aura of pompousness.
	Cardboard Pod	[Pod Skin] Shaped after a very sturdy box used for transporting goods in the jungle.
	Retro Red Pod	[Pod Skin] A retro Pod skin that looks like an ancient device from the East.
	Retro Grey Pod	[Pod Skin] A super nostalgic four-color pattern on a bed of grey.
	Proof of Oath	[Accessory] A mask bestowed only upon true heroes. Prevents you from earning EXP.
	Masamune Mask	[Accessory] The mask worn by Masamune. Increases the level of hacked enemies by 30.
	Emil Bullets	Use this to turn enemy bullets into Emil heads.
	CEO Bullets	Use this to turn enemy bullets into the heads of the CEO Yosuke Matsuda and Kenichi Sato.
	Dress Module	Use this to change your costume. Taking damage will not remove your clothes in any way.
	Heavy Armor A	[Equipment] Protective armor formally issued to YoRHa troops. 2B can equip this costume.
	Heavy Armor B	[Equipment] Protective armor formally issued to YoRHa troops. 2B can equip this costume.
	Revealing Outfit	[Equipment] A highly revealing piece of clothing for 2B that includes bandages for some reason.
	Young Man's Outfit	[Equipment] A simple piece of clothing for 9S that used to belong to a young man in the old world.
	Destroyer Outfit	[Equipment] An outfit for A2 that may or may not have belonged to the man who destroyed the world.
	Pink Ribbon	[Accessory] A trendy pink ribbon with a simple design. Popular among androids of all ages.
	Blue Ribbon	[Accessory] A cool blue ribbon with an elegant design. Goes well with rough jackets.
	Machine Mask	[Accessory] A head covering worn by machine lifeforms.
	Emil's Head	[Accessory] This head covering belongs to Emil.
	Emil Mask	[Accessory] A mask bearing Emil's likeness.
	Lunar Tear	[Accessory] Emil gave you this wearable Lunar Tear.
	Adam's Glasses	[Accessory] Glasses worn by Adam. Equip them to instantly feel more intelligent.

	YoRHa Uniform 1	[Equipment] A restored piece of clothing worn by women in the eastern island nation. The obi knot is tied automatically thanks to research and development. 2B can equip this costume.
	2P's Body Replica	[Equipment] A replica that looks just like YoRHa No.9 Type S, with different hair color, skin tone, and armor. 9S can equip this costume.
	YoRHa Uniform 2	[Equipment] A restored piece of clothing worn by men in the eastern island nation. It covers the knees and allows free movement. 9S can equip this costume.
	P2's Body Replica	[Equipment] A replica that looks just like YoRHa Type A No.2, with different hair color, skin tone, and armor. A2 can equip this costume.
	YoRHa Uniform Prototype	[Equipment] A restored piece of clothing worn by women in the eastern island nation. Women wearing it would get a lot of compliments. A2 can equip this costume.
	White Fox Mask	[Accessory] A restored mask worn on a festival in the eastern island nation. It looked like a "fox" according to records. It is decorated with red string.
	Black Fox Mask	[Accessory] A restored mask worn on a festival in the eastern island nation. It looked like a "fox" according to records. It has a mysterious charm.
	Under the Moon Bauble	[Accessory] A restored flower bauble worn by people in the eastern island nation. Even in dark days, shining hope cannot be forgotten.
	Remnant Flower Bauble	[Accessory] A restored flower bauble worn by people in the eastern island nation. Even in a cruel battle, the good things will not dissipate.

Caught Fish

Caught Fish receive their own tab, separate from the existing Fishing Encyclopedia, as a record of the monetary value of the player's haul.
