
Kevin Bacon (b. 1958) is an actor who had his breakthrough in the 1984 film Footloose.
In 2025, Bacon met with Cookie Monster at SXSW. He posted a photo with the fuzzy, blue monster on Instagram, captioned, "Here @sxsw doing some in depth interviews with important journalists."[1] In a video posted to SXSW social media, Cookie Monster talks with Bacon about the game "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon," although he's a little confused: "How you make bacon at six degrees?" Bacon made his screen debut in 1978's Animal House and appeared in Planes, Trains and Automobiles and the original Friday the 13th. He subsequently had starring and supporting roles in JFK (with Gary Oldman), Apollo 13, Mystic River (directed by Clint Eastwood), Frost/Nixon (with Frank Langella), and X-Men: First Class (as Sebastian Shaw). His other work includes the Fox series The Following, guest parts on Frasier, Will & Grace, and Robot Chicken, hosting Saturday Night Live, and playing himself in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
He is married to fellow actor Kyra Sedgwick.
