Interpol (the International Criminal Police Organization) is, as the name suggests, a worldwide police entity, designed to facilitate cooperation and communication across countries and to provide law enforcement assistance and training in dealing with transnational crime. While headquartered in Lyons, France, Interpol has over 150 member nations. Despite portrayals in media (including Muppets Most Wanted), Interpol agents do not have arrest powers, and Interpol is not a law enforcement agency in itself.
