Picture Segment Description
SCENE 1 Baby Bear and Zoe study a strange box outside Finders Keepers. Baby Bear believes it's a toy, but Zoe asserts it's a mere box. Ruthie tells them they're both right: it's a jack-in-the-box. She demonstrates how it works, turning the crank as it plays "Pop Goes the Weasel" and the two are surprised when a little toy bear comes out. They love it and request she play it over and over, faster and faster until she must return to work.
SCENE 1 cont'd Suddenly, they witness a large, animated letter O rolling past making a low "Oh..." sound and decide to follow it.
Animation Luxo Sr. examines a box. Luxo Jr. pops out of the box, demonstrating "surprise."

They beg Oscar to play a game and he devises one: they must find a way to get him to come out from his can. Baby Bear has an idea and the two run off.

Telly then tries to put his hand over his mouth and nose, however that don't work since he can't breath. Elmo then asks for some earmuffs, that worked. However now Telly can't sleep, because Elmo snores, luckily Telly has another pair of earmuffs.

In their imaginations, they believe it will send Oscar flying out once they turn it. Zoe is skeptical it'll work, but Baby Bear thinks they should give it a try.

SCENE 6 Baby Bear and Zoe sing "Pop Goes the Weasel" as they turn the crank, which still doesn't work. They argue over it which brings Oscar out to listen. They realize they've won the game and Oscar is happy to lose since it's over their argument. However, he returns to his grumpy self when they stop their arguing and head for the park. Ruthie announces the sponsors, which brings back the hovering O from before.

Notes

  • The jack-in-the-box used in this episode is an Ernest Moody Tin Toy model from Schylling created in 1993. A new label with instructions is pasted on the bottom to modify it.
