SCENE 2 | Maria tells Big Bird that she got him a bag of birdseed at the store because it was on sale. Big Bird is slightly stunned and asks why she'd do that, so Maria says it's just because she likes him. She leaves and Big Bird excitedly approaches David to tell him the news.
He's acting a bit coy when he explains that he's just learned that Maria likes him, and he think he feels the same. In fact, he thinks he loves her. David says he could tell her or write it down and give her the message, but Big Bird says he's be too embarrassed to do either. Instead, he decides that he's going to go find some words that rhyme with love. |

SCENE 3 | Big Bird approaches Maria who's working at a table in the yard with some words that rhyme with love. He gives her a glove, introduces her to his friend Delilah Dove, and even gives her a shove out of her chair. Maria doesn't get the hint, so Big Bird eventually comes clean: he's just trying to tell Maria that he really, really likes her. Maria says the feeling is mutual, gives him a kiss, and leaves.
As she passes Hooper's Store, she asks David what's with the "I Love You" sign. He starts to explain he wrote it for something, but she cuts him off, says "I love you, too," and moves along. David giggles sheepishly and stutters in her wake. |
