SCENE 1 | Prairie Dawn is helping Telly practice being a bird for the pageant she is putting on today. Baby Bear, who will be an airplane in the show, has his part down but Telly is having trouble: he cannot flap and tweet at the same time without falling over. Prairie Dawn must leave to sew the costumes, make the set, compose the music, bake the refreshments, and print the program, while Baby Bear stays to come up with a way to help Telly practice. He starts to fly around with his arms stretched again, claiming he thinks better as an airplane. |

SCENE 2 | Baby Bear comes up with a plan, remembering the time Papa Bear helped him to hit a baseball. He fell down every time he swung the bat, so Papa Bear held his arms and guided while he swung until he could do it by himself. With this in mind, Telly tweets while Baby Bear holds his arms and flaps them, but when Baby Bear lets go Telly falls down again. Baby Bear tells him to try again, but Telly decides to give up as no falling is involved. |

SCENE 3 | Baby Bear runs after Telly, telling him not to quit. They run into Bob and Telly explains and demonstrates his problem. Baby Bear suggests that Telly try using his imagination: if he pretends that he is a bird, it might help him flap and tweet at the same time. Baby Bear does it, but Telly is still not convinced and asks Bob to try. Bob pretents he’s a bird and successfully flaps and tweets at the same time. Telly then tries it, and it works! He becomes happy he'll be able to be in the pageant, and that the whole neighborhood will see him pretending to be a bird. The thought of everybody watching him catches Baby Bear by surprise, so now he refuses to be in the pageant and runs off. |
