SCENE 1 In the park, Elmo observes Roxie Marie and Jamal looking at something in a jar. It's Roxie's pet butterfly, Morty - but all Elmo sees is the cocoon. Jamal explains to Elmo how caterpillars become butterflies, and Roxie thinks that when Morty becomes a butterfly, she'll be able to train him to do tricks. Jamal doubts that will be possible but Roxie disagrees, and imagines having Morty the butterfly roll over and fetch a stick. Elmo decides to stick around with Roxie in anticipation of Morty hatching.
